This is fucking inhumane as hell. The worst thing about it is that some of these bug chasers willingly spread it to married men and don't give a rat's ass if their families get infected with it. They should be imprisoned.

I have nothing against people who have contracted AIDS/HIV, and have even been friends with some in the past. Their struggle always plucked at my heartstrings, because I just couldn't imagine having such a terrible disease. It blows my mind that there are people out there who actually want AIDS just because the risk of it gets them off. Makes me wonder how many of them regret their choice when their health starts to go down the shitter.

It infuriates me to no end that "stealthing" is a thing, and that some of the people involved in these "communities" actually encourage it.
 
No, having HIV does not inherently make one a bad person.

Having HIV and intentionally trying to spread it to others is attempted murder, though, and that does make one a terrible fucking person.

You know you're dealing with some fucked-up people when you make the anti-vaccine crowd look sane by comparison. At least you only get second-hand, unintentional death from them.
 
I did a lot of research on this whole AIDS breeding subject after this thread opened up, and what I've read has basically said this:

1. The fetish sites where they discuss bug chasing and stealthing are 99% fantasy

2. The gay community is difficult and lonely to be in at times, and for some having AIDS brings them together and garners way more support than not having AIDS

3. bug chasing is not something that actually really happens ever, besides the few crazies here and there. It was sensationalized by a nearly fabricated article in Rolling Stone which has since been refuted.

4. Stealthing isn't actually a thing. It's all fetish fiction that seems real. It's not documented that it ever really happens, besides some crazy homicidal dude randomly here and there

5. Generally the few bug chasers there are are a younger generation of gay men who did not live through the age of AIDS and feel alone and without a community and seek inclusion, or they are the older generation that lived through the 80's and had all of their friends die around them from AIDS and have intense survivors guilt

6. Bug chasing appeals because it is the ultimate sexual deviancy, so many have adopted it as a fantasy fetish...but it ends there. The few who actually do bug chase are few and far between, granted some DO bug chase for the sexiness of risk and also the relief of not worrying about when you'll finally catch the damn thing.

I'd cite...but fuck it I'm lazy. This stuff isn't too hard to look up on Google to support ;)
