Actually comment: what do you use for your film scans? I just got into film and the place I went to gave me like 1000x1500 scans and I’m kinda pissed.

Oddly enough, I took these on digital with a Nikon D300; I fucked around with them in Adobe Lightroom to get them to look closer to film.
And what place gave you 1000x1500 scans? Were you shooting 35mm or 120 format film?

Oh the grain on them is great.
35mm, developed at a local place. res is actually 1228x1818. The detail is still great but next time I drop off a roll maybe I’ll just ask for higher res.

In my quest to figure out portrait drawing, I've discovered charcoal pencils. Now I'm figuring out how to use them.
Now that I look at the end result, I definitely screwed up the eye symmetry and the back of the head. But hey, judging by the reference photos, this guy's head is odd-looking IRL anyway.
