Some of these moves sound like they could have a decent amount of potential, although to be honest a lot of them are pretty vague. The ones with confirmed effects are interesting for the most part.
But I think the scriptwriter wasn't in the know (honestly doubt it when you look at the list of episodes Hideki Sonoda wrote, but it was his first Pokémon movie script by himself) or they couldn't find a way to fit it into the movie. Really dropped the (GS) ball with it, though, and fans never forgot. Like how we never forgot Butterfree, Pidgeot, Haunter, Primeape, Jessebelle, Brock fucking up scoring with Professor Ivy...
What's happened to Team Rocket since the Orange Islands part of the anime? I remember Jesse and James evolved their Ekans and Koffing, and I know for some reason they parted with them, although I'm pretty sure Meowth is still with them. Also I think they had a Wobbuffet and a Seviper at some point.

The one thing I'll touch on regarding the review is the EXP Share thing. Still don't get why they flat out removed the option to disable it, absolutely nothing is lost by giving the player a bit of agency to play how they want, and no the bullshit "Just switch them around with the mobile PC feature lol" statement isn't a good enough excuse.
Wrong. Dawn obtains a Lunar Wing in The Rise of Darkrai and we see it again in the episode "Sleepless in Pre-Battle!"
Now, shower me with puzzle pieces.

Lol well that's kinda debatable and is more of a footnote than anything significant; arguably, it's just a side-movie and you won't miss much by not watching it while going through the DP series. Although this sentence can also be true for the first movie, Mewtwo Strikes Back is undoubtedly canon because the show itself was building up to that movie (intentional, the movie was always meant to be the finale, but those plans changed thanks to "Electric Soldier Porygon" and Pokémon's incredible popularity). Even though you most certainly can (attempt to) make a timeline of when each movie takes place, I don't recall any of the other seasons doing that for the movies afterwards.
Now how canon is the Pokémon Chronicles side-series, since we're on this subject very quick? Like could we really count those episodes as actual canon, or just wave them aside much like with the vast majority of the movies?
I've ranted about it before, but Galar's shtick of having to cram sports attire into every design (because BONGLAND=FOOTBOOL) only makes it worse. The trainers/gym leaders either look too similar to each other (the same outfits just with different colors) or they look like mismatched wardrobe tornado messes when they try to incorporate more type-centric elements like the above.

Lockstin (about the only Poketuber or otherwise Pokemon-centered YTer I watch anymore) has pointed out repeatedly that just about every Galar Pokemon is blatantly British, and I think it's to the region's detriment. It stifles creativity when you have to shape every single mon to a specific set of themes, and it makes older mons that are also naturally present in the region look awkward side by side.
I get the argument of weird "unfitting" design choices for a given region and have even pointed them out myself plenty a time, but Galar's lot goes too far in the other direction.

I was glad to see those fuckers go. I never forgave them for Lickitung & Victrebell not getting any Kanto Screentime (minus the Kanto League for Victrebell) despite both getting caught with like 20 episodes left. It was always Arbok & Weezing. Lickitung would have worked PERFECTLY in that raid on Cerulean Gym with Misty Mermaid.
And also, why did they never properly introduce Victrebell? I know James said "My Weepinbell" but even that got no introduction. I always suspected it was because the Porygon incident messed things up production wise. Maybe certain scripts needed to be axed. It was confirmed there was a New Years Eve episode planned, if that matters.

We had a brief flashback moment during episode 57, and that was it. All we know is he caught it anywhere between episodes 49 and 57 but left it in the fake breeding center (he didn't know) shortly after capture. James' Victreebel I think was just delegated to be running gag material that ended up passing on to each other his Pokémon because it totally never got old fast. Although I find it odd that apparently the reason Victreebel would latch on to him was because it really loved his trainer (judging by his other Pokémon's actions later on), but his Victreebel always came off as angry to me most likely because he had left it with Cassidy and Butch and it never forgave him.
It's why the sendoff was as weird as it was, I feel, because a flat Pokémon just didn't earn the same heartfelt departure as Weezing and Arbok (which happened later near the beginning of Advanced). So the best they came up with was it just runs off into the forest with the second (female) Victreebel James traded for and we never saw them again. So now they have little Bellsprouts running around somewhere off-screen, I'm assuming. But still a better love story than Twilight Brock and Ivy.
I mostly like base game gym leader designs, but there had to be a better way to combine a magician outfit with the regular uniform. it's like they stapled some frills on him added a hat and called it a day.
