There are also some good example in the Tumblr subforum, like springtrapp and Vade (who once made up a new edgy headmate/alter because she was mad at us. Never forget our son Tero). I think there might actually be a general headmates/system thread there now that I think about it. As others have mentioned systems have been a big thing on Tumblr for ages.

There's a reason for this.

"Scopophobia" was a hot trending phobia on Tumblr a couple years back, and people were getting hollered at for not tagging photos of people with eyes. You'd think posting people with no eyes would be more unsettling, but I guess that'd be ableist.

Oh god plurals.

I remember that on tumblr, a lot of content creators and artists were getting incredibly pissed at plurals, because they would just outright steal other people's IP and claim it's theirs. For example, and Artist draws a comic about Keko the Barbarian Blue Boar. A plural would come along and go 'hey, Keko lives in my head now. You aren't representing him properly. Here's how he REALLY is. If you got a problem with that you're a bigot. He's mine now.'

There would be kids who would see a new disney movie and BAM, one of the character's shows up in their head.

Content creators got pissed enough that the Plural community had to pull inwards to avoid getting dogpiled all the time. So they sat in their own little echo chamber corner where it got worse and worse and we got this shit today.

I know this because a few of my characters got used like that and it's INCREDIBLY unsettling and creepy.

I dunno if they were trying to get collect mental illnesses like pokemon but they sure are in need of some serious help.

I haven't had this happen to me yet but I plan on publicly making fun of anybody that tries this with any of my characters.

I figured it was probably pretty isolated to the usual suspects until I checked for myself, and boy, was I wrong! #PluralGang is actually quite large, and with it, there's plenty of new content for our purposes.

#PluralGang began circulating on Twitter a couple of weeks ago, with the one and only ProtoMagicalGirl being largely responsible for the hashtag's popularity upon realizing that he, too, is even more insane than we realized a proud plural. He posted about this revelation on Pastebin, in addition to making several tweets about it. As a result, plenty of new figures are now using the hashtag to "come out" as plural. @Null's dear friend, Liz Fong-Jones, is one such newcomer to the scene. (Seriously, is there something in the water cooler over at Google?)

Here are some other new additions to the #PluralGang community.

Perhaps most importantly of all, the discourse surrounding plurality has kicked the insanity up a few notches. Here are some of my favorite examples that I've found so far.
