Owlboy - Indie hi-bit adventure game where you play as a mute boy named Otus
I just got this game after watching a few playthroughs of the beginning, and I'm currently trying to troubleshoot why it isn't working on my computer. It was released on November 1st of this year, so it hasn't been out for very long.
Has anyone else gotten to play this yet? The official artwork reminds me of Wind Waker.
It's a nice game. Better controls than I expected, flying around is fun, and you have a variety of attacks available to you. I also like that, for once, we have a villain whose threat level never really goes down, when it comes to the protagonists.
I don't like the conclusions the fanbase took, though.
Basically, people going 'SENSELESS SACRIFICE' over how the final boss fight and its aftermath could've been avoided if we had left the final boss to their own business. I'm sorry, but half the final stage is said final boss telling you 'GO AWAY MOM I DON'T HAVE TO TELL YOU WHAT I'M DOING' and the characters point out that this plan was stupid because they made mistake after mistake in their plan, because they didn't trust Otus enough.
Also, the idea that it ends with the protagonist dead as a definitive conclusion. It's not that it's impossible or that it implies that, more the fact that the game basically implies that with the Loop broken, destiny in that sense isn't as stuck as one might think. Maybe they all survived because someone from the lower areas rescued him first.
