I predict the following:
This will not go away now, but will become more widely discussed during the next week or so.
The usual suspects will attempt to suppress this story while calling everyone who discusses it a nazi and crying about xlibre
The heat will reach a point where canonical will have to let the nonce go. He will claim to be leaving to protect his employer or because his presence is a distraction to their work
The fact of his noncery will become so widely known that he is unemployable
The usual suspects will try to spin this into stories about a "hate campaign", which will require them to defend a literal child rapist yet again
At least one other major figure will burn down their career trying to defend the indefensible (hopefully "ariadne", but I'll also accept drew devault or hector "asahi lina" cantero)

This would be a good case against CoCs. What good does a "code of conduct" do if it can't be used to ban literal child rapists? If he isn't banned in the next week, then it's clear that codes of conduct are only used to ban wrongthink, not bad behavior.
