I hear the overall reception to this one is better than Toy Story 4. Still not gonna watch it though.

My girlfriend dragged me to see it tonight despite my objections. I don't know what to make of 5. Neither 4 or 5 really felt like they really needed to exist. 5 is a little bit all over the place compared to 4. However, I'll give it some credit that it broke some of repeating plot elements that we have been seeing in the recent films of this franchise.I hear the overall reception to this one is better than Toy Story 4. I thought 3 was the perfect ending. You about summarized the entire thought process that goes into making films in a series that should have had a firm stopping point. My girlfriend dragged me to see it tonight despite my objections. I don't know what to make of 5. Neither 4 or 5 really felt like they really needed to exist. 5 is a little bit all over the place compared to 4. There isn't really a villain in the way there was in the past few films. There isn't that toy who is bitter about being rejected and is angry at the toys that are popular. The whole theme that has always been prevalent in the franchise about how toys feel about not being wanted or not being chosen to be played with isn't really here this time around. Though they rehash the stuff from Toy Story 2 with Jessie and her owner.
As far as what they replace this all with... nothing really. The frog tablet is sort of the villain but also not. Rather be actually villainous the plot surrounding it is more due to misunderstanding, and in the end the tablet is redeemed with it becoming friends with all the other toys. I don't want to say there is an anti-technology push to the plot because there really isn't. There is definitely though an examination of how technology is impacting kids and how technology is competing with traditional toys.
You can tell with this film how evident it is that they have milked the franchise of all potential. Toy Story has definitely run its course and this film even more than 4 is making people realize it.
Is it The Producers from 2005?
High School Musical

I think all the love from Smiling Friends and Chris O'Neill may be getting to his head a tad bit. Not in a conceited way as much as him realizing those guys made that joke funnier than he did originally so he's gonna ride that high and reference things that Oneyplays and friends have made super quotableHe made a 'WHY DOES IT LOOK LIKE VEGAS!?' reference.
They have yet to ship.Has any kiwi bought the OneyPlays Nostalgia Critic talking plush? I really want to know if he yelled "BUILD THAT WALL!" for it.
I'll never forget the Digital Dailies short from the DVD Bonus Features, where they kept making references to a bunch of R-rated films that no kid watching would understand. Then again, I doubt even many adults remember Hollow Man.... and it's Veggietales
