📚 Megathread Non-binary genders / Enbies - When Male and Female Aren't Special Enough

My Finnfag friend "graced" my phone with this mr. Gender Speshul Uglymug. Now you must suffer.

The only enbies in my life are pre-teen/early teen girls. One is autistic and has what looks like a very effeminate young asian man as her profile picture on facebook, the second one has a drawing of two of her fave male characters in some anime kissing on her phone or computer or whatever, so probably deep into slash or yaoi, and the third one is just slightly tom-boyish and is into k-pop. I'm starting to wonder how many young girls are starting to go beyond wanting to date a male k-pop star and actually just wanting to be one.

The only adult enbies I've seen are young, slightly portly men and women working at the movie theater and a middle aged adhd autistic theater/artsy type I went to high school with. It's interesting to see the patterns.

Seeing the posts where women coo over the idea of being "femme non-binary" is definitely poking any holes in the idea they are non-binary. They are recognizing they are, in fact, women. So they're just misplacing their tom-boy feelings into gender. It's just a style at this point. Or maybe they can't stand just being lesbian? I can understand pre-teens exploring this stuff, it's new and exciting to them, but if you don't grow out of it, then you're just stunted to me. Plus, it's sad that young women feel like abandoning their gender for stupid whims, it's kind of self-hating and misogynistic in a way.

Most likely at least part of his identity. We all know how much it affects the future discrimination which hasn't even happened yet but he will surely face. Soon.
Dressing to show off your insulin pump is a decision; bro chose the midriff shirt.

Nobody gives a shit about type 1 diabetics after they're adults, so he had to escalate to nonbinary to recapture the special treatment he got used to in childhood.

Ahahahahaha lol, the name most associated* with a 40+, uncouth boomer dude with a permanent hangover, in a tank top + pants worn for over a month, and a brain stuck in the USSR so hard he still looks for its places and artifacts in the present.

*...over here, anyway

You have not seen them declare Sasha and Misha as "true" nonbinary names, and characters named so, retroactively NB!

How is it a "gay crisis" if they're a man and a woman nonbinary?
The crisis is that they realized they aren't gay.

Jk
Straight has been the new queer for a while with NB types. The majority of IRL NBs I've seen in the wild are women usually with an man (50/50 its a TIM)

The crisis is that they realized they aren't gay special.
Fixed that for you. Anytime someone claims they're some special identity that's at odds with normal society, it's out of a need to carve out a special identity for the world because they know that's all they've got.

If you're claiming to be "non-binary", you may as well be goth, punk, or a witch. Anything that allows you to raise a middle finger to the normies.

Back in the day, goths and punks were allowed to argue over whether someone was really gothic/punk, and there was a standard to be met as far as eyeliner/shows attended.

Nonbinary is a modern, participation award subculture.
