I dunno, I am detecting a whole lot of western in Mario and Luigi and possibly LoZ too. Still, the Direct is a lot better than I expected so far.

It think it looks more open world in the way A Link Between Worlds was than the totally open style of BOTW. I hope it represents a split in the series and Nintendo keep making 2D games in this style alongside the new 3D ones.

The whole game mechanic is about how you can just clone anything and go anywhere, its more ToTK but top down.
