What that moron is doing is the equivalent of a small child bursting into a room saying "I know a secret" and refusing to tell the other kids. It's just a ploy for attention, and since these people are antisocial, it has to be the most condescending and assholish version of that.

I'd bet excelsiorlef has crippling college debt and is still wrangling with whether they wasted 4 years of their life to end up in debt to the tune of an R8 and end up with a) no R8 and b) just a bunch of unfalsifiable words which results in everyone looking at them like they're crazy when they start spouting them in public.
One of the other replies to the now banned member is pretty good though.

So one humorous aspect that's been kinda missing from this board is ResetEra's Wikipedia page and the edits that happened to it, there's been a weird and autistic edit war going on since the creation of the page, and I find the revision history to be hilarious (archive), also, for further context and hilarity (from the anti-ResetEra side), see the talk page of the dude that was responsible for a 3-day edit battle (archive), complete with Nate Spidgewood-style tard-raging (no whine punching though

My response to that is pretty much it's not my job to give a flying fuck about your stupid bullshit, or care whether you live or die.
I always treat this cowardly asshole response as an admission that the speaker knows what he's saying is absolute garbage, and would look even worse if he attempted to explain it, and then ignore eveverything he says from then on.

I left two of the attachments in (the "what views specifically are they afraid to express" baitposts) that I think really cut to the core of why people would be afraid to post there that nobody on ERA seems to get: You don't KNOW what will be considered "bigotry" until you put ink to it and the hivemind does its oppression olympics calculations. And then once it becomes clear that it was "bigotry", you CAN'T walk it back and suddenly "oh look x studio employs a bigot let loose the troons of war".
That's why people are afraid. They KNOW they aren't bigots, but they also KNOW if they have eyes and a semi-functional brain with a memory capacity for more than a year that what is and is not bigotry in the eyes of these people evolves seemingly overnight, so there is no knowing whether yesterday's "decent human being" is today's "commienazi drumph supporting bigot".

Apparently, ResetERA, not happy with alienating devs on this side of the pond, have drawn their crosshairs on a fucking industry legend: Koichi Sugiyama. For the uninitiated, Sugiyama is a fucking legend in both video games and anime who has made the soundtracks of fucking hundreds of works, most notably the Dragon Quest series.
The guy has a legacy that rivals Nobuo Uematsu. He's 87 years old and a fucking highly respected composer. One could make the argument that as a really old professional in a very conservative country, he could be forgiven for some level of wrongthink, but that's thinking with logic, and you know how ResetERA feels about that. Recently, He laughed at an anti-LGBT Japanese politician, so he's obviously both a war crime denier and worthy of death:
