It is a substantial downfall as a "celebrity" to reach the level that anybody who remembers you can fuck you in exchange for validation or drugs

You're thinking of the golden days when celebrities were world-touring rockstars, millionaire executives or actual blue-blood nobility. Nowadays "celebrities" (as you point out) are soyboys playing vidya in their mom's basement.

No wonder they don't have any pull after their claims to fame are gone - not only because they were pathetic even in their prime but because at any point in time their fans can tune in to literally hundreds other people doing the exact same thing on Twitch with the newest, hypest games and fads instead (like eating tide pods).

What exactly is the legacy of a record-world speedrunner? An entry in a list on a website, which dozens of people already have beaten due to new skips and strats.

So much for "I will only play Smash for the next 5 years, it will be my entire life and I devote everything to it. It's going to be Smash and nothing but Smash from here on forward!".

But don't worry guys, SMM2 will really restart Narcissa's career, for realz this time!

For very high achievements - inspiring others and pushing the field to new heights by being a pioneer. (My analogy is for influential athletes: ex. Jackie Robinson, Florence Griffith Joyner)
But you can also have a legacy in promoting and growing a community, and mentoring the new generation. I know of a few big Youtube channel creators that will promote smaller channels they like, and besides being a nice thing to do, this almost always benefits both parties.
Also, a popular streamer may raise money for a good cause or make a fan happy by doing something for them. :optimistic:

He's joking because depression and being a shut in fuckwit is hip and cool with millenials and zoomers, but going outside is good. The sun feels good on your skin, the fresh air is way nicer than any musty indoor space or air conditioned office. Anyone who earnestly expresses disdain for leaving their house is a fundamentally pathetic person.

He is visibly ill from his troglodyte ways, both mentally and physically. He literally looks like some kind of ghoulish monster.

Nah, outside can be shit sometimes. Maybe you just dont want to deal with neighbours or friends. Or shit climate. That mentality can happen. Some days I just want to sit on the couch and watch something.
Still go outside other days though. After all the sun is a wondrous body. Like a magnificent father!

Spending 5+ years without going outside? thats a different issue.

Does anybody consider these people as celebrities? Personally, I regard them more like odd people who manage to get their name in the Guinness Book of Worlds Records in the hopes of getting fame and some sort of validation of being the best at something.

Imagine leaving your mark on the world as the guy having the worlds longest fingernails, or the guy who ate the most peanut butter sandwiches, or the worlds fastest speed runner.

Who gives a shit?

To be fair, in

were some attempts to link her bad dreams about some supermarket with apartments close to that supermarket chain. Then someone edited the post and replaced it with the above text.

It wasn't a very specific/successful doxing attempt, but it was more than us posting "portland! now we know!".
