Bit of an annoying development with my OPR HDF list.
Context. A friend of mine rage quit 40k recently. He's apparently allergic to writing a list so games never happen. We agreed on OPR, and Spearhead, specifically because he didn't have to list build. Spearhead uses fixed army lists. OPR has premade fan lists based on 40k Combat Patrols.
Today was the big day. Time for HDF vs combat patrol space marines. He liked my minis (especially enjoyed the badgers with LMGs) and... nothing.
Turns out he went to Warlord HQ and they were super nice to him so now he's on a Bolt Action kick. He wanted me to buy the Stalingrad box, which is £250+. I told him no. We moved on to discussing cheap terrain options. He turns down things like Battle System and TTCombat because their farmhouses are technically part of their "fantasy" ranges. I told him I have little bolt action but I have a bunch of K47 stuff. He seems hesitant but agreed to use K47 rules. I told him to pick a points value and write up a US list. He still hasn't sent me a points value so I'm stuck until he does so.
I think I could proxy a partisan army. I have a box of WGA Partisans (is where my Indiana Jones leader came from) and a nazi tank. I could also proxy a bunch of nazis using my K47 stuff, just they might look a bit more high tech than normal. But again, I'm fucked until he gives me more info, which he refuses to do.
