If I remember correctly, it's R700 pattern so you can still make use of it.
Here's my FrankenSolus pistol so far.

-Aero Solus pistol chassis
-Rem700 AAC-SD Recvr
-Rem700 10.5" 300blk barrel
-Quick-release folding buffer-tube with magpul brace (I just noticed it's one slot off in the pics)

This is the first mock-up with all the pieces together for the first time. I can't make the bolt release fit yet and need to bend the bolt handle 45deg but I'm pleased so far. Also needs lower scope rings.

The Bodyguard 2.0 came in. It's for sure pocket pistol sized.

That trigger fucking sucks. I didn't expect it to be great but goddamn. It reminds me of a lighter Kahr DAO trigger. I didn't pay a whole lot for that pistol and my plan is using it close in with one hand (like I'm wrestling someone or they're running up on me) or to make some noise while I run like hell. But I'm still bugged it sucks as much as it does.

The Shield X is alright. Definitely too big to be a pocket pistol unless I'm wearing BDUs or cargo shorts or something. Its trigger is okay. I may see later on if any of the Apex Tactical stuff works in it even if they recommend against it currently.

What's wrong with it? If it's gritty, that's just how S&W striker pistols are for the first little while. After a little bit of time it smooths out.

Why do website ammo descriptions read like they were written by AI trained on nothing but soylennial Reddit posts?

No one is born knowing how to handle a 12 Gauge shotgun loaded with 00 buckshot ammo. Well, maybe one or two people were born that way. We’re willing to bet Alexander the Great or Atilla the Hun would have figured out the trick pretty quickly. You, on the other hand, had better practice if you’re to be of any use.

This ammunition by Federal Premium could certainly “deal” with a home invader, or slap the senses out of a 12-pointer. It just lacks any premium features (e.g. granulated buffering, copper-plated shot, high-tech plastic wad), which is why it’s marketed for range use.

It’s still Federal quality, of course. Each round is loaded with nine pieces of lead double-aught, a brass-plated head for smooth extraction, a hull that won’t crack under normal pressure, and the powder it needs to launch ~1-1/8 ounces of shot to 1,325 fps muzzle velocity (3-1/2 dram equivalent).

But hey, it's just one weird site, right? Well...

Woah! Do our eyes deceive us, or does this 12 Gauge ammunition have OD green hulls? Why, we do believe it does! That could only mean this is Winchester’s own military grade double-aught!

As you may already have surmised, Winchester’s military loads are suitable for home defense. That’s kind of their intended application. But this shell is also a fine way to enjoy quality time with your shotgun at the range, and it’d prove more than enough for exhilarating whitetail encounters.

This shell’s crimped hull stores nine individual pellets of 00 buck. Each bead is made of solid lead, weighs about 54 grains, and starts its journey out of the muzzle at a rate of about 1,325 fps. Land even half of that spread on your target, and it’ll be mission accomplished – whatever the mission might be.

Some military surplus is corrosive. This particular ammo was manufactured way, way too recently to pose any threat of corrosion.

... what the fuck?

It's not that it's gritty. It's that it's long, the break is spongy as fuck, and the reset places the trigger all the way forward to its initial position. No doubt it'll change as it's used with live ammo but I'm simply surprised that it sucks even more than the M&P 1.0 factory triggers.

I think you may be expecting way too much of a pocket pistol trigger. Go play around with an LCP and a DB380, etc and come back with some perspective. A pocket pistol with no manual safety needs to have a long stacking DA style trigger, like the Kahrs you mentioned (Kahr .380s have some of the best triggers of any pocket pistol, they're like decent DA revolver trigger). You don't want a full size M&P comp trigger in something that gets carried in your pocket.

Same with my Beretta Nano. Wanted to like it, but it has the worst trigger of any gun I own. Like WTF Beretta?

Is there a lot of experience with suppressors in here? I want a 5.56 can for my 16" AR, but I may build a shorter one eventually. Primary focus is signature reduction during the day and at night, low amount of cancer gas, low weight, and durable. I know little about suppressors, is this combination doable?

I own one and it’s the a huxwrx flow 556k. Even on my 10.5 it’s excellent.

Speaking of suppressors, I'd like to run on my AR15 and also get a 10/22 for varmint hunting.

How dumb is it to just get one 5.56 suppressor to swap back and forth?

I have the HUXWRX QD muzzle device on my AR, but that's going to be pretty bulky (and the can even more so) on on a .22 and a dedicated direct thread 22LR can is only like $350 more than a second QD for the 22.

This is doable with the newer flow-through designs as long as you're willing to spend more.

I'd get a dedicated .22 can. They're pretty cheap and .22 is dirty enough that you benefit from a fully user-serviceable can.

Speaking of cans, I'm looking to get one for my 6.5CM bolt action rifle. I'm not particularly concerned about sustained fire capability because it's gonna be for hunting. What's a good inexpensive suppressor for this?
It'll depend on your exact budget, but there are some good options. Personally, I like Otter Creek Labs' cans for this kind of thing. You can get an OCL Polonium 30 for about $550 which should be solid. If you're willing to go to $800 their Hydrogen series is pretty good, although at that price point you have a lot of other options worth considering. Otherwise, the SilencerCo Harvester Evo looks interesting as a lightweight ~$600 can. I don't know anything about its performance, but for your use case it might work well.

I refuse to believe the people in charge are so dumb they they the m7/m8 is a good idea.
it smacks of the rifle cult that the US army and USMC have always had. We used to get really good rifles out of it at least. Springfield 1903, great rifle. M16A2, great target rifle. Even the M14 was a great rifle for accurate fire out to 1,000 for targets the size of a man. plus it has great sights. M1 has great sights too.

problem is MIC graft and the vestiges of this cult has chosen a poor rifle. The silents and early boomers that designed the above rifles are all aged out leaving young boomers and gen X in charge who just have the inkling of atrophied memories of the rifle cult. Big round = good rifle for example. so we get a shitty rifle with bad sights, poor construction and a round that could be good if it was left to bake in the oven a few years longer.

they really should have just went with .270 WSSM. it's short action and has the same performance as the 6.8 (same caliber). just throw the NGSW bullet in there and go. the development is done.

Shooterscircle has bt 762 print xh for $570 atm that comes with a qd mount. Don't think you can beat that for 762 atm.
