The replies to this, like all the other tweets about KF lately, are depressing. The site is literally right here, where no crimes are being committed. I understand weasels profiting from this say whatever, and there's a big brigade of brain-raped tranny bots, but damn. The average NPC out there is really looking for any excuse for violence. Replies are full of Russiagate panic, including 'now we see that KF was a Russian scheme all along' posts. It's fascinating how the 'anti-conspiracy theory' Twitterati still go haywire as soon as someone mentions Russia. Hopefully they don't find Null's secret Siberian troll farm.

Matthew knows it's all bullshit. I can guarantee that he HATES everything that's happening right now, and that he KNOWS dropping Kiwifarms will cause far more problems than it solves.

The problem is that he's not in charge. His company is publicly traded, which means his shareholders are in charge. The board of directors only care about one thing: an increasing profit every year. Anything that potentially threatens that must be dealt with. The problem with shareholders is that they almost always know nothing about how the thing they've invested in works and only think short term. I'm sure Matt spent a great deal of time in meetings trying to explain how this would be a bad idea, but he was ignored and forced to give the bullshit statement he provided.

Nothing else makes sense to me but this explanation. Why take a hardline stance a few days earlier then go back on it entirely? Either he totally abandoned all his principles in a few days, or he was forced.

The lesson here is simple: Be like Valve and stay private, and long term you'll see far more success than you ever would otherwise.

Stop it with this normiecon nonsense. You've seen go woke go broke in action, yet companies don't care. They can and repeatedly do eat losses for the long game. The long game is all about power, crushing any and all other nodes that might oppose theirs. Family, small businesses, religion, drumpf, any idea which invalidates their worldview and desire to socially engineer the population towards subservience to that worldview; this is what it's about.

Matthew and his board got taps on the shoulder from enforcement mechanisms like blackrock and probably their federal clients as well, people who are looking further out than the short term.
