I don't get it why America has a hard-on for Russia while China is a much more well funded and is actually expanding its influence on the Pacific and Africa and south America,asides from building gigantic air bases on the south China Sea.
There's only so much genetic variation in the 'scrawny weeb' part of the gene pool. Much like MLP neckbeards, they don't get the opportunity to diversify all that much, so the template is pretty much self-reinforcing.

Does it worry anyone else that peoples perception of reality seem to go so far that I literally would expect anyone not paying attention to think that two seperate debates took place, where one mopped the floor against the other, and vice versa?

Kaine was super-cringeworthy. Pence pretending to be shocked by Hillary's "insult-driven campaign" was just blatantly insincere and hypocritical. Moderator needed to rein shit in.
Pence clearly won, but Hillary now has loads of footage for campaign ads where Trump says one thing and Pence denies he ever said it.
Not to put you on the spot but why should Trump or even Hillary for that matter be tough on Putin? Russia is a pseudo authoritarian regime with a collapsing economy and an incredibly outdated military. I've never heard a decent rationale from a Democrat on why we should be itching for a pointless conflict with Russia other than "they're evil!" With Militant Islam on the march and China being incredibly aggressive I can't fathom why the official stance of the Democratic party is that Russia is our biggest geopolitical foe.
Russia invaded Crimea, routinely hacks our govt and businesses, dicks with our elections, and routinely invades the airspace of us and our allies, to say nothing of the loss of freedom and opportunity within Russia. It's a dangerous, belligerent nation with nukes. I could be persuaded that it should only be the #2 or 3 biggest threat, but let's not pretend that the problem will go away if we ignore it.

Pence spent the entire time distancing himself from his running mate. I would hardly call that a win, as Trump's little twitter shenanigans during the debate helped highlight how full of shit Pence was.
You're right that Clinton is going to mine the debate for clips to show Pence being a liar or calling him out on his religious bigotry, so that's a point in her favor. I don't see any benefit that came out of this for Trump's campaign aside from Pence doing his best to stay calm and collected. In terms of sound bites Pence got slaughtered, and that's what will matter.
That was before they got involved in Syria. Now we should be trying to hammer out at least some sort of nominal cooperation with them to fight ISIS at the very least, and Obama and State Department seem determined to spurn the possibility of an alliance of convenience because there's a chance some moderate beheaders might get killed
