Well damn, now I feel stupid.

Anyways, I've been looking at lolibrary and I'm really digging fairytale and fantasy motifs and I'm wondering if there's any brands that make anything like them that I could get my fat butt in or at least use as weight loss motivation.like thesefor example.

Also I think most food based prints are ugly as sin bar a few exceptions and would work better as jewelry or a handbag.

God here from another thread where lolita fashion was mentioned. It looks like a lot of posters are lolitas or have dabbled in it so I'd like to ask some questions (if anyone still watches the thread):
1. OP mentioned that satin looks cheap, which it does. But what about silk or other fabrics that are cooling? If it's only things like cotton, wouldn't that make you overheat? Not only during summer but anywhere inside a building.
2. What's the overall consensus on wigs? I've seen some pictures and can't help but think wigs cheapen the look. It looks more like a cosplay and also, who wants to wear them so often? I don't want to sound ignorant, but wouldn't some type of hairdo done on well groomed clean hair look better?
3. Could you give 1 example of a lolita youtuber you hate/can't stand and 1 that you enjoy watching?

I found that on taobao https://world.taobao.com/item-amp/570679172688.htm?spm=a21wu.11787984-tw.3.27 since I kinda love it too. I'm genuinely surprised. If the quality is as good as the pic it looks gorgeous.

Honestly I love this stuff alot, I wanna convince my gf to buy a dress like these ones

Do you girls still rip each other off on BTB?
Many aeons ago I used to lurk that because the girl I dated at the time was a seagull. It was hilarious. Specially finding a post from her comm.

It's funny when they're fat messes:

Possible necro-ing and late but, here's my thoughts:

1: silk is used in some pieces. but it's super uncommon. But from what silk pieces I've seen that are few and far in between, they do look gorgeous.

2: wigs are a crapshoot. If you get wigs that look like natural hair, it can look amazing. But if it's the highly shiny shit, then it looks atrocious. Generally speaking, you're better off using your natural hair if it's in good condition. Wigs can help with OTK shit, but generally avoid them and just style and take care of your natural hair.

3: I can't think of a lolita youtuber that I hate, but one that I enjoy watching from time to time is pearlie cute and I highly recommend her sweet boom and iceberg video.

All I see in this particular picture is an alternate version of Sissy Baby Pansy for some reason,, and I kinda cringed for a moment, lol.

So a question I've had, as someone who loves the fashion: how the fuck do you go to places in this stuff? Not in the confidence department; petticoats just seem like hell to wear while driving, and public transportation also seems like a horror (bumping into people on top of trying to sit.)

If you're driving, you have the option to just put your petti on the backseat and put it on in the restroom if you're having a comm meet or going to a con--you can also just change clothes in the restroom too if you want to reduce sweating on your brand. That being said, 45cm A-line pettis tend to be not too bad in the poof department and you could probably drive no problem with one on IMO. I'm unsure about 60cm cupcake ones, however.

Now public transport is a tricky one. Personally, I stand near the entrance and lean against the side and squish my petti when needed to make sure that people can walk past me. To prevent petti deflation afterwards, you should hang your petti upside down while you take a hot shower. The steam prevents deflation. You can also use the disabled seating enclave on the bus, but if someone with a baby or in a wheelchair comes on, you're screwed.

I've only driven/walked places wearing it so I wouldnt know about public transport.
Walking in lolita shoes is no different than walking in any other heels/platforms. If the shoes arent broken in you're in for a bad time.
Driving is the same issue shoe-wise. I will take off any shoe with a significant heel/platform because they're just unsafe to drive in and drive in socks. Fitting a seat belt over the petticoat isnt really that bad for me comfort wise. The only difficult part is maybe finding where to clip it in in the first place under all the ruffles but i usually kind of tuck in the edges under me.
IIRC a lot of Japanese lolitas way back when they congregated in Harajuku would arrive in street clothes then change. That's why you'd see a lot of them with suitcases.
I'm sure I have more saved but

Old thread I stumbled into but...

I once dated a girl who was into this sorta fashion. Didn't wear it around me but mentioned it and she wore platform heel things so I believe that. I had no idea men could dress this way too so that was super interesting. Kinda wanna try now but I am hideous lol

It's basically cosplay so I respect that grind, cosplay be hard + pricy.

I was really into J-fashion in high school, and knew about Lolita fashion since middle school. I never wanted to wear Lolita myself, but I appreciated the people who just wanted to be cute. I was also into sewing so I liked looking at people who posted tutorials for their own creations.

Now, one tangentially related J-fashion I would still love to wear nowadays is Mori ("forest') girl. Like modern cottage core but better. It always looked so cozy with a touch of fantasy/old fashioned layers.

This is the exact opposite of my general tastes and vibes and yet I love looking at this sorta stuff. I feel the same way about these gals as I do those guys who ride motorcycles in those big metal spheres - not with a gun to my head would I do it myself, but I’m glad there are folks who do.

I'm pretty certain I've encountered this person in the wild unless I'm being face-blind. Him and his boyfriend (?)
