I searched, and didn’t find a thread about knickers.
What are your go to sources of slightly-nicer-than-everyday undies? I’m looking for fun things that are comfy and nice bright colours, maybe a bit fancier than everyday wear but not the sort of stuff that makes you look like an Ann summers catalogue. Wearable stuff. Nice bralette and high waist lacy knickers in candy colours. That kind of thing. The kind of stuff you wear for yourself.
( Bonus points for high waisted knickers.) Every lingerie thread I look at online is infested by ghastly troons and perverts, and I just want recommendations for European lingerie companies without cross dressing men wanking away furiously in the thread.

Nice idea for a thread, watching because I'm interested in the same topic and have similarly noted the troon infestation in the reviews for lingerie online :cryblood: they're a plague.

I have a bit of an issue finding nice undies with a small band/large cup combo, and one brand I've recently discovered that I think is European is Dobreva - bought a few of their balconette/push-up bras recently and they're actually lovely, and supportive, for a very reasonable price point. They have a wide range of sizes and I'm delighted with mine, they're really cute too. I'm a bit less enthused by their offerings in terms of knickers/panties, but it's a place to start out with!

small band/large cup combo,
Oh now I was talking to a friend about this a while back and she had some names, and I can’t remember. Let me text her and see, I think at least one was Polish and she was a convert because of how the cups are constructed from multiple pieces. Apparently polish made lingerie is a thing of wonder. I don’t know if we have any polish kiwis who can attest to this but I got a lecture about moulded cups vs constructed ones,
I know Adina reay and bravissimo do large cups and small bands in the uk and sometimes when I’m rummaging in tk maxx in find things, but that’s not reliable, it’s basically a big jumble sale.
Knickers are always a let down and I also find most sites don’t show you what matches if you pick a bra, which is really annoying and an easy fix!
@MongInTheMirror the brand is ewa michelak,

Finding bras and lingerie in my size is hard unless I go to Asian sources like Syndrome. But then I hesitate putting them on because they're cute and also a pain in the butt to take off normally, I wonder if most are just for show and I don't want to ruin them :(.

I just buy mine from Amazon. Not picky about those.

Where I get picky is about bras. Mine are soft and wireless. A little expensive but keeping the girls holstered properly is important.

I don't know where to find well constructed bras made of high quality materials. I don't mind expensive since I don't need a lot of them. I've never liked Victoria Secret level bras, I'm looking for an upgrade.

Does anyone have any ideas?

This is the brand I buy.

I don't know if it's enough "bralette" for you, but they're really soft and shaped nicely.
Link isn’t working for me - whats the name? Soft sounds nice
@Clotso Coof if it’s ok to ask, what size roughly are you (small med large will do!) because it does make a difference, and are you looking for scanty, or serious scaffolding, full coverage, padded or not etc?
I quite like triumph for everyday, but what you get depends on how much support you need, and things like strap width, shoulder strap width, whether the cup is one piece or multiple etc. My friend says polish bra makers are miles ahead but she’s of polish origin and has big cup/small band (she’s roughly a 28 and I have no idea what size but way beyond the DD level.) apparently even the width of your shoulders counts.
https://miseczki.com/ was one she said was good for small band big cup.
And if you’re willing to drop a grand on it, there’s a couple of places in Paris will make one for you to your exact measurements

As someone with a larger bust, I can't give higher recommendation than Berlei bras. They may be Australia only but I've probably worn them exclusively for over a decade.

Does anyone have any advice for someone who needs a smaller band than a 32? Or am I doomed to sports bras and bralettes?
Bluebella and pepper both start at a 30. Cosabella start at a 28. Boux avenue do as well.
I’ll keep an eye out, I had a look and I’m actually quite surprised there are so few with a 28 band - I distinctly remember being able to find them as a student when I was that size, it’s petite but not exactly out of the range of normal is it? Smaller than that I dunno, maybe Asian sources?

These are cute. This is sort of what I’m after. Might get them. Expensive for what it is but whatever https://www.shopunderstatement.com/products/mesh-triangle-bralette-pale-pink-deep-red

Ooh, they actually do have my size. But cries in American. You Brits are lucky, most brands over here start at 32.

I will keep an eye out for smaller US ones and report back if I find!
I’m surprised - 32 isn’t that small, what do teenagers do?? I was a 26 as a teen.
They’ll deliver, but I guess then there’s taxes

In the US, wear the wrong size forever. Or just use sports bras forever. I am pretty sure even our teen clothing lines the bras start at 32 band size. I'll need to double check this.

Have you tried checking out the website Bare Necessities? They have a lot in the way of "unusual" sizes (i.e. you can totally get a 28 band size in at least a handful of brands). They're currently doing a friends and family sale, and it's gotta be about half of their stock is on sale.
(They do also have some cute underwear! It's expensive, though, so maybe only for special occasions.)

I really like PACT for practical underwear in cute patterns, and if you have a butt that devours underwear you, too, will be well pleased. They're kinda expensive, but they last a really long time (and do go on sale occasionally, especially at the end of a season when they're putting out new patterns).

Tommy John brand is mostly geared to mens briefs but has great ‘second skin’ undies for women. Have not tried their bras yet though. Definitely a luxury brand.

The Understatement stuff arrived. I’m pleasantly surprised at how comfy the mesh bra is. I will keep an eye on them for sales. Would say size down if between sizes tho.
