Valerie Solanas: better-looking and less crazy than Lena Dunham.
I want to visit the parallel universe where Lily Rabe played her instead, similar to her appearance in Hotel as Aileen Wuornos.
 
Wow, it's amazing that Lena Hamham was able to capture the appearance and mannerisms of Valerie Solanas and not just appear as a stinkier more homeless looking version of herself!

Mad props for all the intense training she did to lose her weight so that she could appear more like Valerie, it's always a sign of a good actor when they're willing to go the extra mile like that à la Christian Bale losing large amounts of weight and putting it back on and gaining muscle for certain roles.

Such a prestigious show to appear in as well! One that only hires the top of the top actors. Hammy Hamham is going to give up-and-coming and well-established actors alike a run for their money!

I think it's having the opposite effect - she just looks even uglier in comparison lol. I mean they literally make her look deformed.
 
The cast and production staff of Girls is kind of its own mini Rat King with Dunham at its centre. Jemima Kirke is a childhood friend of Dunham's and appeared in her debut feature Tiny Furniture as a favour as there wasn't enough money to pay professional actors (even now, after Tiny Furniture made money, Kirke hasn't been paid for it).

Jennifer Konner, co-showrunner of Girls, collaborated with Dunahm on a weekly feminist newsletter called Lenny Letter and has two children through Richard Shepard, one of the principal directors on Girls.

Konner also worked as a script doctor in Hollywood to help them flesh out their female characters. One of her projects was Transformers: Dark of the Moon where the female lead is introduced with this shot:

Well, you have to realize, she's only really there to make Taylor Swift (and the others by proxy) look like she's inclusive to ugly women. What better way to look even hotter than to juxtapose yourself with Lena Dunham?

I don't think anyone else in the squad really gives a shit about her otherwise. I like how in the picture they're all touchy-feely with one another and yet they look like they wouldn't dare to touch Dunham with a ten-foot pole. Not to mention, Swift herself is quite famous for being very secretive about her politics, if only because it's one of the very few things in her personal life that she's not willing to share about herself, both through her music and outside of it.
 
You want to know why Hollywood pushes Lena Dunham? Simple, she's ugly. That's the single biggest reason. Women like seeing unattractive women in movies. I think it makes them feel more secure about their own looks. I mean, even the plainest women look like 10s compared to Dunham. Plus they get to pretend they're making a statement about "unconventional looks" or some crap. Funny because most of them women complaining about the media pushing unrealistic standards tend to be reasonably attractive themselves, and you don't see them dating short, fat, sweaty, balding men with warts and stained t-shirts. It's the same as when Susan Boyle was popular because she was ugly but can sing. Where are all the Susan Boyle CDs now? In dollar bins and Goodwill. You can give that shit away. In a few years time, Lena Dunham will be just as irrelevant. Might take a bit longer but it will happen.

Of course, yeah, the fact that she comes from a rich, connected family helps. The media is pretty incestuous and likes to push their own. That's nothing new. If Lena wasn't connected, it'd be some other fat, annoying liberal art student instead, but my point still stands. The best thing you can do is just not pay attention. I mean I know I'm not Girls' target audience, and I don't think I've ever since anything Lena Dunham is actually in, but if I knew she was associated with something, I would actively avoid it. She's not as much of a train wreck as Chris, or Phil, or any other Lolcow. I can easily avoid paying attention to her, save for the most extreme cases (when the media was covering that shit with her molesting her sister, and some of my liberal friends were actually defending her; that was just one of those wtf? moments where I realize I hate modern pop culture). Hopefully she'll be gone and forgotten soon enough.
