She promotes herself as an "investigative journalist" and the article was published under the Reality Check subsection:
Basically no one has read Gosney's self-published smut. It has six reviews on Amazon and is ranked #81,572 in Literature & Fiction (Kindle Store). He's contending with AI-generated trash at the absolute bottom of the barrel. The only reason anyone cares is because he was foolish enough to accept a fairly high-profile role working for the Miami DA's office and self-published this under his own name instead of using a pseudonym. It sounds like the Herald has an ongoing beef with the DA's office, and this was just useful ammunition. So it probably was politically motivated, but Gosney also brought this upon himself by being dumb enough to put his name on this.

I am not disagreeing or imputing virtues to the journalist. I am just commenting that jumping in to things he does not understand (sweeping for Nick [multiple times and way] and defending Drexel) is going to bit him.

Coming from someone with a soft spot for Gosney, I have no idea why he published this under his own name. The dude is a little naive and probably somewhere on the spectrum, but you have to have more self awareness than that.

I don't think I wanna join a journoscum dogpile over Gosney's alleged "misogynism."
This would have been WAY funnier if they did some research and pointed out that the dude wrote a Christian lifestyle book with a foreward by Nick Rekieta. A man who is anything but Christian, and way more degen than Gosney. The book is mentioned in passing in the article.
That's the thing he wrote which is the most absurd to me. Offensive even. That's the book that he should pull from the marketplace out of sheer embarrassment. Not a work of fiction.

You can call it a "hit piece" all you want but it doesn't change the reality that the vast majority of people would not want the creepy weirdo who wrote the novel excerpted below training prosecutors in one of the most populous counties in America.
I mean everyone already knew he was a Rekieta defender. Though I note he's scrubbed Rekieta from his "friends" page on his site - Rekieta appeared there in archived versions, but doesn't now. The excerpts from the book are new because nobody would actually want to buy his trash gross smut book to see what it actually says.

The man was a public defender for over a decade. Of course he's warped and twisted.
I don't have a problem with him training prosecutors. Noone I'd rather have train them then a public defender.
The exerpt is horrifying and the book is trash, I'm sure. But does the man really deserves public castigation over it? Maybe?

I don't want to burn any book, let alone his trash book. But this guy is a very public Christian who claims to be a moral person, upstanding citizen, and believer in God.

Gosney has been nose-guarding Rekieta for a long time.
As Nick was going downhill, people were contacting Gosney (as Nick's friend and a Christian) asking him to intervene to help the Rekieta family. All the while, Gosney played dumb and insisted Nick wasn't an alcoholic or losing weight, because that willful blindness was in Gosney's financial interests.

Reading these excerpts, it's clear Gosney is a degenerate lunatic who is writing thinly-veiled fetish novels about sex with dead bodies and children.

The sheer stupidity of Gosney's actions demands some sort of punishment. How fucking hard is it to write a smut novel about lawyers and the justice system? Every show and movie about it has lawyers banging other lawyers, cops and lawyers banging, cops and lawyers getting too involved with cases and criminals. There are a million ways he could have written a story that didn't involve getting horned up by CSAM and fucking. He didn't make one of those choices. Then he's dumb enough to publish it under his own name when he holds a government position people pay attention to. He isn't random government bureaucrat #75349 who denied your permit to build a shed because they read the application wrong.
The lack of awareness is astounding. I was done with Nick before Loltube was a thing so I admittedly don't know the characters well. Has he always been like this? All I knew was that he was the Christian guy and used to be a defense attorney. I'd be livid if I found out someone in my DA's office was writing child porn smut.

In his most recent LOCALS hot tub stream, Nick had a few minute long rant about LawTube and the simul-streaming arrangement that some chatter heard was in the works.
Nick said that he would never do such a thing. He was asked to lead something like that years ago with schedules and profit-sharing, and it was horrible. He cannot think of anything worse than streaming with a panel of LawTubers, and it is almost as bad as his current legal situation. He wished the people who do that a million dollars, and he will never do it--even if it becomes the most lucrative and popular form of trial content.
Nick's plan is to stream with actual good lawyers and experts (he makes a joke that he does not mean himself) like Andrew Branca, and the 'chaff' can fall by the wayside.

Wondering about Gosney and the degenerated stuff he has written. Do these degenerates occasionally think back to "oh I released that thing". I should really take this opportunity when I am now on stream to play up my god fearing and praying religiosity... Maybe they won't notice how I am really. Or it will improve my image some how... Or does that only happen when they are reminded at times when associate does something.
