Xenforo offers a one time $200 purchase option that lets you self host. He's probably just using the normie $60/mo subscription where XF hosts the site for you.

If he is I predict he's going to run into problems pretty soon because XF has a precedent of revoking licenses and giving up user information willingly after very little pushback. Though I admit I'm not super familiar with Ralph so I don't know if he has any alogs that are that dedicated.

May be too early to say but it seems that snark.vegas is already being hamstrung by the site admin's laissez-faire standard for acceptable user content, as the fledgling forum has no pro-archiving culture or policy and tolerates the submission of thread OPs devoid of any introductory text. Site will therefore have difficulty attracting users who are not already acquainted with the lolcow space (or KF), so this community is likely going to be replete with KF users who have the same giggling contempt for Ralph he was presumably trying to avoid.

It seems the sole reason Ralph feels so differently about this gossip forum is that its mod team will direct user attention to his posts about Warski, Jawsh Moon, Ashton, Rekieta, and all the other godforsaken recipients of the Ralphacurse. It also seems like they have quietly prohibited the creation of threads about his family members.

It's incredible how much value the well-crafted OPs on KF provided, you notice it especially when they're not there.
