Andy merely said they spoke. He did not mention the medium. With a paypig of that level, Twitter DMs and phone calls are also very likely possible explanations. I don't like to devil's advocate, but it is necessary. Yes, it is the same guy and this is certainly a point of circumstantial evidence that the Discord was reformed/never went away (I believe this to be true, but don't have enough evidence beyond basic common sense arguments). I operate on the presumption that the back channel dialogue never went away, even if it is no longer taking a Discord form (which is a hell of a generous assumption and not one I ascribe to). But yes, that is absolutely the same guy.

Added in edit: I do not know what Discord offers that other mediums don't. The only things I know about Discord are 1) extreme pedo/loli havens everywhere 2) the operators will archive "wrong think" and break user privacy in spectacular public doxes when they feel inclined to do so (this happened to the C-ville planners) and 3) they are almost always disasters to both hosts and participants. I genuinely do not know what they offer that other mediums don't. You can use Twitter spaces, DMs, even FarceBook to do everything I've heard of people doing on Discord. Outside of number 1, I legitimately do not know why people use Discord as their medium of choice to manage fan clubs and interest pages. As bad as Farcebook and Twitter are, they seem to be the lesser evils compared to Discord. I am too Boomer to even understand the devil's advocate argument for Discord. I fail to see a single upside.

I witnessed Blood Sports in real time, but I imbibed it in small chunks and generally got synopsis from others. I wasn't too interested in every twist and turn, just the overview. I've been watching BS archives and this is my analysis. Remember being 13 or 15, hanging out with your 6-10 neighborhood friends in the basement of someone's house plopped down in a group taking turns playing Super Nintendo (or N64 or PS2 or whatever) just having not a care in the world and ecstatically hanging with your neighborhood friends all day? Now imagine a community of young adult NEETS doing the same thing. You'd have 6-10 on a hangout call for hours on end, just shooting the shit, creating a comfy setting for the audience and the audience would experience that same comfy feeling by watching the hosts and interacting with each other. If you're a young adult without pressing responsibilities, it absolutely makes sense why Bloodsports would have an incredible appeal. Even watching them in hindsight, I can see that. The occasional outbreak of hollerin was just something fun to add spice to the experience. Predictably, these once thriving communities fell to breakup after breakup after breakup where there are no more friendships amongst said group any more. The environment was dominated by snakes and flakes and was a fleeting thing, defined by constantly shifting alliances. Being targeted by the establishment as "far right thought criminals" accelerated the downfall, but this was fuel on an existing fire, not a primary cause.

The Andy sycophants are the people who never moved on from this. These are the extreme paypigs of the KC and the backchannel community that does the stupid/depraved/perverse shit. The carcass of bloodsports is a long rotten beast. Admittedly, my time in the Casino audience had this same comfy feeling. The incessant emoji spam was mindless, but it is fun to turn your brain off for a spell. It is fun to hear some combination of information, conjecture, opinion piece and righteous rants, but the Farms is a far more effective vehicle towards all of these ends. I see the appeal of the Casino community, I was an active participant for a long time. I held on until the evidence of pervshielding overwhelmed my capacity for apologetics. Now it all just feels dirty and gross. I've seen many people come around on this in the wake of Vegas Gate and it is very refreshing to see.

I enjoy shutting my brain off for a time to decompress. ABG finds it insufferable.
