I don't know about that, there are quite a few things that were absolutely inedible and definitely dangerous to eat. Especially towards the end when he could no longer eat food without letting it cool on the counter for 72 hours, which did nothing for making his teeth hurt less.
Just got back from a two-week camping trip around Loch Ness and surrounding area and for the first time in my life I noticed myself checking out and taking photos of old clock towers. Never done that before during any holiday, and it's bittersweet kino. Historic Scottish places are great for this kinda spotting.
Also, been looking for an excuse to bring this bit of useless trivia up,
if you're a cryptid nerd worth a damn (power lvl: not really a believer, but I'm a huge Nessie fanboy, it was one of my biggest obsessions from my kid days and still love the idea, enjoy reading about the history, supposed sightings and the major expeditions, or just research it as a pop-culture phenomenon etc.) you know that the person first and foremost responsible for there being a modern Loch Ness monster myth, years before the tourist industry, those 70s docus and even the Surgeon's photograph, was a man called Alex Campbell. Both long-time water bailiff and correspondent of local newspapers who started reporting on the thing back in 1933, some say as long back as '31 (there's even a nigh-conspiracy theory that he was a key figure in a group effort of consciously establishing a lake monster tradition, optimistically seeing dollar/pound signs from day one), who kept adding to the canon/lore throughout his life.
It's a common enough name, but we're talking about a dude who would talk the ears off of anyone who was willing to listen with, if we're being polite, extremely unlikely tall tales, claiming no fewer than 16 sightings of his own during a 40-year period. At best an eager to please, not exactly two-feet-on-the-ground type of person, at worst a grade A world-class bullshitter. Ever since getting into Cobes and learning Warlord's name, the parallel always stood out and made me raise and eyebrow or letting out a, you know, a "recognition sigh" when I came across the name in the literature or a documentary. It's an odd tism crossover that I couldn't really acknowledge anywhere else before. Thanks for sticking with me and reading about it.
