(1) His entire department hated him (shocker). He painted it as a brave, groundbreaking, innovator vs. the academic machine; but in reality he's a charlatan, and the WGS department saw right through him.

(2) RU's WGS department is a strange beast: mostly liberal feminists, but there are a few old-school, "fuck your pronouns" radfem types. He did not like them (shocker) and called them TERFs (shocker). Rutgers' WGS department is highly-ranked, but mostly Butlerite nonsense.

Point is, beefing with your advisor, calling her racist, a TERF, etc. on Twitter isn't very bright. Especially at a department with high prestige in its niche.

(3) His advisor dropped him because his thesis was so embarrassing that his advisor thought he would damage her reputation.

(4) He tried blaming this one random liberal girl in his class for ratting on him. His rationale? She was frazzled the day after the Trump election, he said something dumb (I think about burning flags? Unoriginal, but not unheard of at RU). She was crying about the state of the country, etc. emotional about Trump, flag-burning, etc. I can't blame her for this – it was a weird election.

That said, his tweets directly referenced this girl, who probably had nothing to do with the reports.

(5) I'm 100% sure the mole wasn't in his class, even though he assumed it was said girl. He has a really weird problem with white women.

Doctorate students are required to teach two(?) classes per semester. Note that he was officially an adjunct, rather than a student, in his final two years.

As for not shit-canning him sooner, academic freedom is a thing. Most doctoral departments just sort-of go "okay do you." Being flat-out rejected from getting your PhD is a rarity.

That's why he was going nowhere: she refused to approve it.

The department let him teach his class, got sick of his shit, dumped his class onto the American Studies department, he went psycho, they fired him.

I believe he has a Bachelor's from Utah State University and a MA from a UMass (not Amherst).

As for being an adjunct, I believe his drama occurred within the past two years. According to a source, the initial deal was a leave of absence with an adjunct deal while he worked on something better. Of course, he had nothing better, thus, shitstorm with WGS.

Literally anyone can be an adjunct with a Bachelor's, and it doesn't matter which university. Amber from Chapo Trap House, for example, has a BA from Indiana U and taught a class at NYU as an adjunct. Basically, if a university's department finds your class interesting enough, you can be an adjunct and teach a class for a semester.

No idea why, but he always called white girls Becky. Honestly, if he were a troll, he'd be a damn good one; or at least a funny Internet critique of liberal feminism.

He gave some white girl shit for "voting for Trump," conveniently ignoring that his demographic voted for the guy in larger numbers (gross and per capita).

He was also beefing with some alt-right Mormon-but-not-really "tradwife" (the LDS dropped its weird de jure white supremacy, for example) blogger on Twitter.

Forgot to mention that he tried to blackmail people in the WGS department; students and faculty alike.

The guy was a massive headache.

His thesis wouldn't happen to be the Politicizing Beyoncé book that he's been shilling for would it? Or at least an early form of it? If so, I can sympathise with his advisor entirely.

If it was something else entirely, I don't suppose you could leak its subject matter or suchlike?
