But this came from his mouth so it’s unknown if this the truth or lies. Generally when people (not all) have children, they change their behaviors and their way of doing things to adjust to having a child. They start to take their job and life seriously since now they have someone to provide for, perhaps she saw the writing on the wall sticking with Jonathan, and realized he was not worth having as the dad of their child and just split ways with him.
