Maybe it´s a PR move. Make people forget about a shitty thing by doing another shitty thing. Maybe Logan thought that it was better for people to remember him for tasing a dead animal than for exploiting a dead body.
Besides, this is nothing new, there was a Youtuber known for eating all kinds of disgusting things, in one episode he actually took a bite out of roadkill.
Besides, he is untouchable, his fanbase doesn´t get why Logan is a shitty person, as he himself boasted... he got even MORE subscribers while he was away from YT. He is untouchable.

Apparently because he hates rats, to the point of mutilating their corpses with little remorse. At least his friends are showing some signs of realizing how fucked up he is, because they were asking him why the fresh hell he would do such a thing, although not in a very angry manner, just a shocked one.
