Mazatlan is often regarded as the safest part of Sinaloa. But that's not saying much when it's in the dangerous state of Sinaloa notorious for it's cartel and gang warfare.
Is Mazatlan Dangerous? - I wanted to visit the city but not end up in a terrible situation.

The default is that Mexico is dangerous, because it's a shithole filled with criminals carrying fire weapons that have not been subdued by the authorities, as they should have.
