If you were offered a free vacation to North Korea (and a guarantee you will make it back), would you take it?

I know someone who went about 10 years back now - you just get shown what they want you to see, which is probably for the best because it would be really depressing to actually see the grinding poverty once you leave Pyongyang.

Regardless, I'd even pay to go there if I had a guarantee of making it back but it's highly fucking risky. You also have to go via China which is bad enough.

Unless you're the President of the United States, there's no guarantee that you'll make it back.
Don't take any recording devices, speak to the locals as little as possible, don't leave the path they lay out for you, and above all, don't act like a retard. Do these and you can guarantee your safe and unmolested return.

But of course. People paid for it when it was possible: it was a very.... curated experience, but if you aren't dumb and follow the rules it would be almost novel, after all you're visiting one of the most peculiar places on Earth. Furthermore, the Norks are getting some baseline economical development nowadays, I bet the country is a bit more interesting than even ten years ago.

I mean, I doubt that Pyongyang's pre-determined routes with former-military guides are more dangerous than your standard Paris (robbed and knifed by moslems) London (robbed and knifed by moslems) or Berlin (robbed and knifed by druggies) experiences. Could be even charming.

As an isolationist for sure. Plus I could as said type of person toll out the right kinds of praise to survive.

I would definitely go, any opportunity to practice my Korean, I'm taking it.
