I need your help at Writing. - How many Characters for my Villain Group?

Hemingway always liked 6 for a villain group but he didn't write Fantasy Stories.

Called them "Los Quince" and make them evil mariachis that dual-wield magic maracas.

Their M.O. is that they quiz their victims with trivia from an obscure and forbidden magic TV show called "Mythical Lizard Spheres Y". If you fail, they turn ttheir victim's assholes inside out with a devastating spell called "Andalus Andalus".

They are all brown and have tattoos of a deity called "Virgencita de la Guadalupe", along with their corresponding number in the organization.

That still feels like too many.
Can you name a story with 15 villains, let alone one that is good?
LOTR, idiot.

There's that dickhead outside the shire they throw an apple at, all the ring wraiths(9), the barrow wight, grima, sarumon, shelob and sauron. Fifteen not even counting the orcs they characterize, OR grond.

OP is simply writing the next generational epic and you addlepated simpletons just don't GET it

I think a few less would be good. 8-12. Look at Foxhound in MGS or whatever they're called

Like the Org. 13 from Kingdom Hearts or Akatsuki Nakadashi from Naruwhore.
I don't know what those mean, I don't play Disney crap or watch animoo.

What I'm thinking of are actual villain characters and 15 is way too much.
If it's 1 group, you should have 1 leader, maybe 2-3 officers and like 4 muscles who serve as boss fights.
More than that will fuck up the pacing.
