Also, for clarity: Another man is going to raise my child. It is honestly sad to say. If he didn't exist, then I'd either step up or convince her to abort (she is pro-life however). But as it stands, I get to have a child to carry on my genetic line etc with minimal drawback. A kind of insurance policy on whether or not I'll be able to have a family & kids in the future.

I'd prefer if this were not happening but it is what it is. The child will live a good life.

Make sure that you have some kind of contact. Your kid will know eventually that Dad isn't his father, even if you don't keep com open. And, if they don't accept your money, keep it in a savings account for his college/house/whatever fund. Put a small amount in every paycheck, if need be.

Buy the kid a dirt bike and a set of drums. Teach him/her to swear like a sailor on their weekends with you. Teach them the phrase "you're not my real dad!" as early on as you can. Let them eat as much junk as they want and send them home tripping balls on sugar. You have nearly two decades of quality entertainment ahead of you, dude. Don't fuck this up.

Oh yes definitely. The kid will live a life knowing that his/her father knocked their mom up and dumped them onto onto her boyfriend and said boyfriend will just let it all happen.

That will in no way affect their future relationships nor will this cause them to repeat this same kind of incident years from now.

The child will indeed live a good life.
