Just came home from the gym, and had this autistic lust to clean up some dirt outside my apartment. This is in an apartment complex, so you can't blame the weather, but nah. It is still dirty and messy outside some of the doors here to my neighbours.
Since it's fall, people do drag in masses of leaves. I do not understand how. Sure, I have to clean up more after myself. But it's more dirt, not fucking leaves.
 
First Halloween in 7 years I didn't celebrate in some way. Didn't really give a fuck.

The girl I was seeing is back to China next week, so I'll be 'single' as of then. I don't know whether to just grind harder in the gym and enjoy free weekends, or get right back into smashing strange as soon as possible.

Bought an antique stamp album whilst working away from the office in another city. I'd been interested for years, but finally pulled the trigger. Some gems within - Weimark era inflation stamps, some 1800s Jap, Chinese, British former colonies, and tons more interesting shit. There was an envelope to the back of the album with a few hundred loose stamps, so I ordered some hinges and shall get to work on the weekend.

Making all kinds of gains in the gym. Hoping to have a 200/160kg back:front squat by Christmas, and a 100kg strict press. 17.5kg combined, I reckon I can make it.

Work is a mixed bag, though I'm honestly too apathetic to be concerned about it. I figure I'll do a year at this place before recalibrating.

My Asia relocation looks to be postponed until next year, though I'd already made the decision to focus on things here, Bongside. The yearning still exists, and I'll probably settle on Korea or Japan when COVID finally becomes a nothing burger.

She's been in Bongistan since last year. Ton of hoops, shitloads of testing, and a mammoth quarantine to look forward to on the way back. Flights were absurdly expensive to boot.

The word is if you land in Shanghai, you can expect a SEVEN week quarantine - paid for 100% by yourself, naturally.

Edit: students were allowed to come here for study, though there was a period period six months or so where the number of Chinese students dropped off significantly. The The few months I've noticed a massive uptick. I can't speak specifically to what regulations they have in place Pooh-side.

Would really advise against going there.
 
Sticking to my trainer-prescribed workout routine. I've got 5 evenings of the week booked with friends. Praised at work. Averaging less than my suggested weight loss calorie count because I'm not going to eat when I'm not hungry. Attended two halloween parties. My social life is pretty good.

Next person who tries to read me the Prosperity Gospel theory of relationships can kick rocks though. Living well is a *prerequisite* to dating well. It doesn't magically create it from the ether, and after ten years of living fine I'm so over listening to people telling me that if I don't have anyone it must be because I'm "doing it wrong". No, Karen, I can point to at least five ugly personality flaws you've done fuckall about and it wasn't a dealbreaker there. My more busybody acquaintances can stuff it with the unsolicited annual advice that I'm *obviously* not seeing anyone because I haven't finished becoming perfect yet.
