Wouldn't it be more effective if they had at least bothered to tweet @femfreq? I checked Anita Sarkeesian's own Twitter and she doesn't seem to be aware of Gen Zed or at least she hasn't tweeted about them and I doubt she just does general searches for "Anita" without even a surname.

The Gen Zed team seem to have a very limited understanding of their target audience (to put it mildly).

Look at the Blaustein fiasco: if they'd had half a brain between them, they'd have dropped the "first trans lead ever" crap after it was debunked and chosen another angle to appeal to the trans crowd.

It's the same here: Hayden or whoever runs that account probably went "hey Sarkeesian's a SJW, SJWs like trans shit rite? :biggrin:"

I get the vibe Hayden understood that Tumblr and SJWs were an easy mark to milk money from, but he has no fucking clue how to exploit their mentality to profit off of them. Essentially since he didn't understand the culture and the fact he's a cynical businessman with his head in his ass for getting a show on TV already, he just assumed it'd be a hit with this niche market. Or failing that, they'd make a killing in the merch...

In short: he didn't do any research before making this cynical cashgrab.

In retrospect, this really goes to show just how good Sarkeesian is at her job with PR. I mean, Hayden isn't exactly setting the bar high but putting it perspective it is a miracle she managed to stay relevant in her position.

He also seems to think catering to this niche demographic involves being cute and sassy like the Interbutts, but doesn't understand that just randomly being an utter douche to everyone who asks a question just comes across as, well, being an utter douche.
 
Someone on tumblr pointed out the Gen Zed basically stole the setup from Seinfield: main character is a comedian, has an overweight sad friend, the girlfriend, and the one friend that's kinda off-kilter. Psychotic, you might say...
