Given my job, I work with many people who're Indian or Chinese immigrants here on an H1B or something. I'd say they are more "American" than Hasan, and many of them don't even have a green card/plan to get one.
Because unlike Hasan, they don't hate the US.
Hasan is probably one of the few people who I'd say actually hates America. Not "America as it is*; you have plenty of people who dislike the current state for a variety of reasons and think if only they got their way, America would be better. They still like the 'idea' of America.
Hasan, however, does not seem to like America at all; the only reason I'd say that he lives here, is that he knows if he moved literally ANYWHERE ELSE, he would not have as good a life as he does here (and that includes the Euro nations).
