As a Mutt, I'm curious- how widespread is the Gypsy Menace? Is it confined to Eastern Europe, or are they just everywhere?
Mostly Eastern Europe [and the subcontinent, broadly speaking]. They are also overrepresented in petty crime in some western countries especially 'working' near tourist areas, mostly pickpocketing [Cue the lady screaming "ATTENZIONE, PICKPOCKET" at Romanian gypsies in TikTok videos from Venice]. Apart from that I think there are two notable outliers with a deceptively large amount of gippoes, one is Turkey, but you usually can't tell the gypsy apart from the sun-roasted turkroach, and Argentina has a deceptively large gypsy diaspora that they call 'gitanos'.

Another fun one is Canada, they abused the deeply flawed asylum seeker system in order to get there from places like Slovakia/Hungary/Romania. There isn't THAT many of them in Canada but they immediately turned to crime so they are infamous, this loophole was also fixed since then AFAIK and many of these criminal gypsy roaches have been deported. Funnily enough if you want to look at Canadian gypsy crime you need to look at news articles talking about "Hungarian citizens" or "Czech citizens" or whatever, like this recent, fun one: "Hungarian father of three savagely murdered in Toronto", The story is that two gypsy families in Toronto beefed with each other and one just decided to activate PVP on the other clan's GM. These niggers were about as Hungarian as I am Vietnamese, the suspects' name eg. "Oláh Dzsenifer" is the gypsy equivalent of someone named 'Laqueesha Marqueefa Brown'.

So where the fuck did this crusade against the word "gypsy" start?
The words 'roma' / 'gypsy' is 100% the exact same and comparable to 'jewish person' / 'jew'. Jew isn't explicitly a slur, it's context dependent, as is gypsy, but 'roma'/'jewish person' is the 100% pc, sterile and safe version to go with if you're unsure of your audience and how it fits in the context.
