Not sure anyone misses Varadkar, altho his replacement could be even more dreadful, and so then he'll be missed. Fehlinger must try that arch understatement for humor approach, but it comes off wrong. Varadkar wasn't a 'neutralist' just pro his enriching his friends in deniable ways and very young men. I've read at least a few Romanians aren't sold on that cathedral, think it a sort of post Ceaucescu, Ceaucescu style white elephant.

NATO apparently needs a special budget item to defeat the scourge of @realDonaldTrump. His second pin regarding French is funny. I suppose no one understands it nowadays.

You're making the mistake of assuming Gunther knows anything about what he's talking about. He wants to defeat Trump because Trump threatened to withdraw from NATO. Trump did that to get NATO to increase their defense spending. Gunther wants to undercut him by increasing EU defense spending. It's nonsense. I know next to nothing about Irish politics but I know I have a better grasp than Gunther. His concern with the Irish is that they refuse to join NATO, which raises the possibility they're going to send the IDF across the border in NI. To counter this he holds up the pIRA getting guns from America as an example of the benefits defense pacts can have for the Republic. Also the UVF is in cahoots with the Serbs.

He's an odd cat.

I'm interested to see where this goes. Gunther's been quiet on American politics since Haley dropped out, other than stating the coveted Gunther endorsement will go to who ever promises the most support for Albania. (Pretty sure he has a gig consulting for Albanian investments rn)

I caution Gunther that one who would fight Trump's twitter must be careful of becoming Trump's twitter. Or something. An autistic Austrian playing Map Games irl in the Trump voice would be pretty funny so I'm on board.

How fun would it be to run into this guy in some european country, having a pint or something and then just keep drinking with him and hyping him up to keep telling you his great ideas. That would be fun as hell!
 
He's the embodiment of that one sam hyde rant about israel and missiles but he's based and we should listen to him
