Grieving vs Griefing

Everyone on this site seems to misspell "grieving" as "griefing" in their thread titles. Are they all wrong, or is the rest of the world crazy for speaking of "grieving widows" instead of "griefing widows"?

I once lost a dear friend and spent the next month putting tnt blocks under peoples houses and bring conga lines of high level enemies to starting towns, it's not something to joke about.
