You know, we live in the age of video games where people have often been making spiritual successors and "The game in the genre I'D like to play" indie titles, kinda surprised the crime sandbox thing hasn't gotten the treatment.
Didn't someone already do that, granted in 8 and 16 bit fashion?

It's easier to do total overhaul mods, like Liberty City '01, since you don't have to reinvent the wheel with the core mechanics.
I believe the last two indie GTA-likes that got any traction were The Precinct and Samson, but they're mostly disappointing, except maybe for The Precinct. There are the usual issues with this kind of genre, since it's a pain in the ass to nail the sandbox, driving, missions, combat, and city design for one or a couple of indie devs, and none of them try to be as bold and edgy as Rockstar in the early days, so every attempt ends up being very sterile and mostly forgettable.
 
I want to know why the fuck youtube people keep saying this game is going to "kill fortnite". It's not like the astroturfed overwatch shit from years back calling it "the tf2 killer" because the games aren't even the same fucking genre. Fortnite's either a battle royale with different modes, the original game which is a pretty fun mission based building tower defense/resource management shooting the horde sort of co-op game, or the slop factory trying to copy roblox's slop factory of most recent times. GTA6 is... well it's the 6th GTA and it's more expensive than all the GTA games and GTA clones before it with additional predatory microtransactions for a single player experience. It just doesn't make any sense!

Like even with the expensive microtransactions fortnite has it's literally just made itself 100% free to play now with the removal of the paywall on save the world (original fortnite/main game). You're getting not one, not two but three or four fully fleshed out well made games for free there.
I think it might have more to do with just how long Fortnite has been at the top of the proverbial mountain than anything else.

Even ignoring how Fortnite has been having its own issues of late - I think it's finally reached the point people are moving on, though it'll always have an audience - Fortnite's run is something thats hard to replicate. Even if GTA6 is a dumpster fire, by reputation and hype alone it's arguably the single most likely game take the spot, though if it stays there is a whole other guess. Much like TF2, theres really nothing that can actually kill Fortnite beyond "the dev team decides to actively kill their golden goose", and I don't think even Tim Sweeny is that fucktarded.

I mean he was fucktarded enough to let his company lay off almost all the people responsible for why fortnite got big and replace them with indians while claiming the reason for it was they need more money because "muh inflation" while making absolute bank. Still making the main/original game f2p is good because they already removed the purchase bonus several years ago to milk microtransactions.

Oh I'm not denying that he's fucktarded, but actively killing the Golden Goose when, despite its issues, it's still an active money printer? I think someone from Tencent would kill him.

The Last Stand stop reacting to posts and get a job you broke ass faggot​

If you're going to acknowledge someone giving you stickers, at least put some snark or do anything besides calling them broke for not buying something that you're buying (especially when it's not going to be worth it given how often any game that has went though development hell is almost never worth it given how messy said development tends to end up in such scenario)
