Gonna be honest…..I don’t think the game looks that bad. It could ABSOLUTELY look better don’t get me wrong but I think it looks fine. Even though on PC it’ll be stuck on the shitty rockstar launcher, I doubt it’ll be there forever. Red Dead 2 came to steam eventually so the same will probably happen with this game as well. In the meantime we can hope and pray modders fix the graphics since its not that hard to mod games that use the rockstar launcher thankfully.
If I get it, I’ll probably pick up the switch port if it actually runs well and looks decent on the switch. I’ll probably wait for a sale if it actually ends up looking like it’ll run well on the switch and pick it up then.

The Housers ARE Rockstar, if there's no influence from them then it's not Rockstar anymore.
Honestly it feels unreal and heartbreaking to think those guys are already done as video game developers.
I wouldn't be surprised if we never get a proper GTAVI and instead it's just some continuation of GTAO, why would Rockstar even bother with the single player, story aspect when the creative talent is gone and GTAo prints money?

I just replayed these games. The new graphics look alright, but you know they're going to tinker with dumb shit. Meanwhile the originals still look and play great. And there are tons of neat mods if you get bored.

The new textures look Fortnite-ish, which is perfect for today's generation of Tik-Tok-poisoned speds.
I'm just waiting to see what tracks they yoink out of each game, tbh. No way in hell they're putting Lionel Richie's "Running with the Night" back in, I suppose.

Agreed. Ken is supposed to look like an ugly Jewish lawyer as he's a clear facsimile of Sean Penn in Carlito's Way.
This is just a lazy remaster by a studio who either didn't care and/or didn't receive the time and resources to do a proper job.
I'd say wait for hardcore fans to release better accurate textures as fans have lovingly done for Resident Evil 4. But given how Rockstar fucked over the community I surely wouldn't blame them for not putting in that work for free.

Most sane user on GTAF calling out the mods for their obvious bias in favor of Rockstar.
I gotta hand it to this guy, on a website full of consoomers so thick even the moderators consoom, this Ash fellow is willing to call out bullshit when he sees it. He was the one who brought attention to when Rockstar were taking down the mods a few months ago as well (and the moderators took issue with that too.)

GTAForums are claiming that people unhappy with Definitive Edition expect "too much" from Rockstar.

Unlikely because the source material is actually good and from an era when people still made video games.
The worst part will inevitably be the "QOL" changes and scenario modifications made by some blue-haired 20-something.

Unpopular opinion, but I'm not a fan of the ultra realistic graphics mods. It loses a bit of identity trying to appear realistic. And it can reach uncanny valley, looking out of place.

I like his spirit but, like he said himself, he's in a legal battle at the moment with the first hearing due some time this November. He's the primary defendant in a lawsuit Take-Two filed against reverse engineered GTA projects. Consooming callouts aside, the dude shouldn't give a band of lawyers even more ammo to use.
