It's most likely rape at this point. They wouldn't go to a Grand Jury if they planned to charge him with diddly stuff. Chris almost certainly passed a mental evaluation as fit for trial and refused a plea deal. There won't be any more sympathy or talk about insanity. He refused the prosecutor's offer and the gloves are off now.
No. Incest can be a felony or a misdemeanor in Virginia, it's likely Chris just rejected a plea deal and the court upped the ante by moving it from a misdemeanor to a felony. It's also possible he's still being charged with a misdemeanor and has just decided to take the case to trial as apparently grand juries sometimes convene in Virginia for misdemeanors. If he has new charges, they're public record and we should know in a few days.

What do the PLEADINGS/ORDERS stuff tell us?

You know I'm starting to think that Chris knows he's screwed.

He knows there's no Barb and no Temple left for him; that's part of the reason why he's not accepting the plea deal, because if he's going out he's going out his way.

That, or he's achieved the inner nirvana of a cult leader.

But I genuinely think at this point he's truly aware there's no 14BC left for him, even if he really does believe in his delusions.

I feel like it is either this, or Chris fully expects Barb to lie & attempt to get the charges revoked somehow for life to get back to normal. But I don't think Chris understands that if they have evidence proving otherwise, the victim taking back her testimony will likely not remove the charges.

What do the PLEADINGS/ORDERS stuff tell us?
On first glance, nothing we don't already know. A lot of procedural stuff and court orders changing his custody to the hospital or to have him transported.

Edit*: that letter seems interesting. In most cases an attorney "speaks" through motions or pleadings, not through a letter to the court.

I looked up "Chandler" out of curiosity and holy shit, I didn't realize just how many charges Barb had on her record. I know she broke some laws for Chris or whatever, but damn.
It looks like there are at least three Barbara Chandlers. I doubt our Barb was distributing cocaine in 2008, and the third one is black.

People need to remember him being insane is not enough to make him unfit for trial. He has to be so insane he literally cannot tell right from wrong. I don't think that applies here. He understands perfectly well everyone thinks what he did was abhorrent. He feels it's justified. He knows what right and wrong is. He just thinks he's in the right and everyone else is wrong. Yeah, that's insane, but not the kind of insanity that gets you out of court.
