Interesting. Not touching Impact 3rd though I am curious about the lore fags now trying to explain this.
Also threadtax WuWa pull.
Not all that exciting but I enjoy Aalto's gameplay a lot (did a trial run with him) so I'm happy to get him.

can't be worse than swapping in baizhi and have her attack some single bumfuck nowhere mob.
the systems are all kinda meh in their own way, unless you go abyss or force yourself through IT it doesn't really matter much in genshin at least. and even if you design it as convenient and simple as possible people are still gonna complain...
punching boy replacement is still free (especially great for me since the game doesn't give me anything but calcharo and encore copies... least let me save rolls for changli, but I really need to complete my waifu collection at some point).
just started the event too late and probably got getting all the rewards
enjoy your wasted 4* rolls
imo you can't eat cake the whole time, and especially since natlan genshin got even more into desert territory (although remains to be seen how much of a rug-pull 5.3+ are gonna be), that's why I like wuwa as a palate cleanser.
no pulls for tax since I'm saving for rollerskate botan and shore keeper.

Having finally gotten around to doing Kinich's trial, so far all the Natlan 5* characters have felt super janky to play. This whole alt move system thing they seem to be trying is just awkward as fuck to use, especially Mualani who is the first 5* I kinda regret pulling. Kachina's move set I get, as she's just a geo version of cloud retainer where you just spam jump and things die but the others feel awful to use.

Mualani is really fun for me, ride fish, get 3 stacks, use skill, catch puffer to extend your surf timer, do two more times then burst and switch out. She is very field hungry. Kachina is a walking artifact set and I haven't finished grinding Kinich to use him much yet.

I'm surprised the game is so generous with Calcharo considering he's a five star. I got him not long ago and I got him again - plus cube boy which is funny since he's free if you do the event.
But hey, upgrading material. Think you can even buy him for in-game credit in the store.
Shorekeeper looks interesting. I hope her gameplay is fun. I'm not interested in Lumi or the white-haired loli with the funky eyebrows. But hey, maybe they play really well.
I am gonna save for Shorekeeper and Carmellya though mainly because I find their characters much more interesting. I'm gonna get the rest eventually of course. Maybe.
Damn. Kinda envy you now. I only got Kachina of the Natlan gang and I really wanted Mulani or Kinichi because I like them better and their gameplay is more fun.
But then there's a Raiden Shogun banner and a test run for her in a trial and it's like "Damn, she's really fun too but I'm not spending real money on this because I'm stupid and stubborn."

The only bad part about Mualani's kit (fall damage and targeting) is being patched in 5.1, while Kinich feels bad to play without Emilie and is clearly designed to work in tandem with the Pyro Archons kit (Since no character helps him activate the new buff artefact set).

I got Kinich on a whim and while he hits like a truck in the Abyss and his overworld ability is super useful, he's horribly clunky when fighting random mobs on uneven terrain. Getting stuck in trees/between crates or ending up swimming in water during his E spinning is just so annoying. I don’t regret getting him at all since he's the first character I actually got on release and thus isn't outdated yet (I only started in 4.0 and thus played character catch up until now), but once I got him to friendship 10 he'll be relegated to Abyss/event unit.

that's in place for other chars, for example I still don't have verina or jianxin - latter is especially useful for chill IR grind.
updates are handled like ToF (dunno where else since I saw it there first), if you have a char you can get a certain number of upgrades in the shop, no need to roll and hope for more.
kinichi with the 8-bit gimmick is a bit too cringe for me, mainly pulled mualani for genki-maxxing with yoimiya.

Kinich seems kinda fun from the trials I've used him in but I don't think I'm gonna go all out pulling for him with the new characters on the horizon. I've gotten quite a lot of mileage out of Mualani though. With her signature weapon and artifact set a 3-stack bonk from the shark does an easy 180k damage and she can do that three times per skill usage basically. There's also been a resurgence in people dusting off their Dehya lately since her slow pyro application actually works well with Mualani's slower hydro, plus the interrupt resist is super important.
The new support artifacts sound really strong on paper but Kachina isn't the easiest to use as a support with how small her skill range is when she's not in burst. I've taken to using Kazuha with Mualani instead for VV and the ability to swirl pyro and make it easier to vape.

Did they ever explain WHY all of a sudden there's a character in 8bit? It just looks so out of place that I hope they at least have a semi-good explanation.

I found Kachina pretty good and comfortable to use, but Mualani and Kinich felt incredibly janky and not fun to use in the slightest.

A bunch of QoL stuff got detailed for next version; a bunch of stuff to making crafting easier for building characters, and a skip to abyss. Being able to skip to lower levels by having done the previous phase may motivate me to actually run it more often.

"Ajaw is a bona fide relic from the era of dragons dating back several millennia". Back in the dragon time they apparently got pretty good tech before dragons got nuked by Celestia.
Star Rail and ZZZ got more of pop culture references but unfortunately it's slowly creeping more and more into Genshin.

Honkai Star Rail has moments like this too. From kinda innocent if not overplayed stuff like referencing Fight Club to characters using words like "cringe"
I guess there it makes sense since everyone has a mobile phone but it just sounds wrong in Genshin.
Then again, it's little annoying shit head Paimon who can't be euthanized or muted so maybe it's a Genie from Aladin situation.
