So is Raiden worth pulling for? I passed the first time she came around but I'm wondering if she's a good investment since she's getting a rerun. I only have a handful of 5 stars (Venti, Keqing, Yoi, Kokomi, Itto) and every 4 star minus Sara. Seems like any team build I look into recommends using her, although I know you don't have to follow those for a good team. Does she even mesh well with any of my other 5s? Do you need several constellations on her for her to be good, or is she impressive at C0?

I was saving for Ayato, but his design is...eh. His kit would really have to wow me to get me to pull for him now. I have a guaranteed rate up ready to go, just wondering who to use it on.

I would say she's useful and handy to have, but given the current balance of elemental reactions not strictly necessary (also depends on whether you like ulting everything to death or just stabbing things). Rolling for her also depends on what Ayato's kit ends up being, and if we'll be seeing an Ayaka rerun alongside him because Ayaka is like a Keqing that deals much more damage in a much more useful element. If Ayaka ends up getting a rerun I'd recommend saving your wishes and rolling for her over Raiden.

if you don't do abyss you can roll on whatever has the most waifu appeal (in raiden's case 11/10, look up her sale numbers).
her c0 is fine, and she spikes pretty "cheap" at c3 (anything afterwards is much less improvement). you can also still get "her" 4* polearm via fishing, in return her 5* is pretty specific for her.

teamwise she's an incredible battery and burst buffer. can't remember itto but I think she should work with yoimiya (raiden's best partner is still eula). you can also run her with millelith for the easy mode attack buff. I don't run abyss so someone else would need to answer that.

I wouldn't look too much at 5 stars only, and in your case you'd have to use some 4 stars anyway (and probably want to since bennett/xingqiu are hard to beat). another thing to consider is that she's a support, so will get powercreeped much slower, and being an archon even less. and it depends how many primos/pity you have and you're ok to blow on raiden or want someone else down the line more (at which point you might already have enough primos again).

I mostly mentioned the 5 stars in the case of wanting to use more than 1 on a team for a while. Most of my teams are one 5 and the rest are 4, but the allure of several 5 stars that work together is a bit craveable at times lol. Benny and Xingqiu are beasts that I rarely bench, I'm glad Xing was my first C6 character.

Ayaka is awesome, gear her up with a black sword (no healer required if plated smart !) or even 3* harbringer and you have a cyro princess hitting hard with her burst. Her drawback is she needs cc and a source of hydro to bully mobs, but you already have Venti, so go for Ayaka.

Raiden is mighty decent, fun to use and cheap yet versatile to assemble a team with. The others already said most of her pros so feel free to get her if you are certain you can net Ayaka. She won't disappoint.

If they did, not much.

Tried it with Childe melee and not even a single blade got in, even the highest char, Diluc only got a handful of hits in. Mind the latter was done on a slope which brought the mobs (churls, slimes) to his height.

The only workaround to this is soaking the enemies, Venti burst and freeze it, hoping they freeze at a lower angle. Then again, it is already a Morganna team.

Regarding save for raiden or ayaka, remember that ganyu and zhongli are also great choices.

I've seen videos of Ayaka and venti together and both her burst, charge atk and skill (somehow) can hit enemies up there in his burst. The devs KNOW how strong ganyu and venti are so they had to ensure ayaka works too, she had beta changes to make sure of it (longer vertical range, slower burst,etc).

Another character who can reach venti's burst is Raiden during her own burst (the katana charge has hilarious range), which i'm sure is intentional since people would inevitably make archon teams and it would be lame if they didnt synergize at all.

In other words, if someone can or cannot reach enemies inside venti's burst, be sure it's intentional design choice from the devs. Childe for example, cant melee up there but his bow burst works great as a chain riptide nuke.

Raiden gets the most value on teams that have some cooldown periods that you'd normally spend gaining energy, so if your teams are already well-oiled machines that fund all of their bursts back in a rotation, she's not strictly a benefit. If you struggle a bit to get everyone to full energy however, she's an amazing filler because she can turn the energy gathering phase into another damage window. You could hypothetically slot her in after Yoimiya E, Kokomi Q, or Itto Q if the other two units on your team aren't doing valuable damage and you could refund all your team's bursts back in the process, depending on what your energy recharge stats are.

Overall, she's not necessarily the best in a lot of teams, but if you're like me and you hate having to worry about getting your ER% stats to optimal levels, Raiden pretty much blows those concerns away. She's also a functional main DPS when paired with sub-DPS units with high burst costs (except Beidou because Mihoyo hates us), especially if you get enough Sara constellations.

Full honesty - and feel free to send neg rates my way - I’m… largely ambivalent about the character changes. Sure, the vast majority of the changes are because they’re trying to appease the Chinese Overlords, but considering they’re headquartered in China (maybe trying to loophole development into Singapore aside) it’s probably in their best interests to not piss off the overlords and risk being told to Shut It Down, if not worse.

If they do like with the last batch and make it optional outside of China, it’ll probably only be bugmen who get pissed off, and honestly fuck the bugmen.

Sure, the vast majority of the changes are because they’re trying to appease the Chinese Overlords, but considering they’re headquartered in China (maybe trying to loophole development into Singapore aside) it’s probably in their best interests to not piss off the overlords and risk being told to Shut It Down, if not worse.

The last time the bugmen were too pissed off at Honkai Impact III, some rando stabbed Mihoyo CEO. I was actually surprised no one pulled it off again at the time of Anniversary.

i've heard from multiple people it's for story related reasons to (inazuma archon quest spoilers if you care) differentiate between the puppet and master ei(s)

honestly i don't mind this one that much, zhongli and venti get to run around fully clothed while raiden is in her underwear, the longer skirt looks cute af.

If you're going to try and make a comparison at least make it a fair one, skipping over the fact that what one character wears shouldn't influence another.

It's also ironic that you mentioned Venti as being safe since he was one of the main characters that the CCP mentioned on how "boys shouldn't look like"
If anything Venti if far more likely to be on the chopping block than most characters.

eeh, slippery slope and all. they do do it out of necessity. so far their censorship attempts have been tasteful at best, meh at worst. global servers will always have the option to not use the censored version and will offer more options because it's a cultural export, see: the assasination attempt fiasco with honkai that was mentioned before. that was because global server had an event with a bunny girl skin that the cn server did not have, so it's not like mhy was afraid of making their ccp mad back then, and i still think they aren't as much.

i do get that censorship is bad, and i agree because all art forms have the right to express whatever they like if it's fiction, but it's not a big deal if players can't see tits and ass 24/7 because it's a very miniscule thing in the long run. if it gets to the point where the writing and environments and gameplay gets affected, then i'd see a reason to get mad because two of the three are the reason i play in the first place.

i did make it a fair one because i compared male archons to a female archon, and the fact of the matter is that the only female archon released so far is in her underwear. i do like raiden, i have her and i play her a lot, and it's not something i was ever bothered by because that's not the point of the game imo. i don't believe in genshin designs being purely male or female gaze per se and i'm not a feminist by any means, it was a light jab at the absurdity of it lol

imo venti will be just fine, i'm pretty sure the stuff you mentioned about what boys shouldn't look like was debunked somewhere on reddit, i'll find the post i read about it and edit this later.

Venti in his archon outfit shows more skin than any other character. But that's an outfit that only shows up in cutscenes and doesn't even have an in-game model.

When skins were first introduced, people speculated that giving the archons their canon alternate outfits would be an obvious move. Now there's no way any character gets a skimpier outfit than default.

That's why I play through Floor 11, then stop and decide how much bullshit I feel like putting up with. If I get 6 of 9 stars on Floor 12 and don't feel like going for the perfect run, so be it.

35 stars is pretty damn good. Doubling up on hydro shaves a fuckton of time off the pyro lectors shield. Or just XQ + anyone who can spam elements like Sucrose.
Fuck the Ruin Cube for sure though.

Also yeah, this is like the worst event in Genshin ever. Theres not even any gameplay you just mash through textboxes lol
