When the US gov banned the importation of Russian ammunition in 2021 in response to the alleged poisoning of Alexei Navalny by the Russian government in 2020.
Also, a small conflict in Eastern Europe taking up a lot of that ammunition. 7.62x39 is just as expensive as 5.56 in Europe now, maybe more expensive in some markets.

.300 BLK is a meme. Anyone who buys it is retarded and should live with the knowledge that they are retarded and should have purchased an actual 7.62x39 instead of a neutered faggot version of one.
I used to be of this mindset and then the sanctions happened. Also 300blk has better advancement for defensive ammo nowadays. A suppressed shorty 300blk as a home defense gun is really appealing in my area. Not really concerned about over pen.

.300 blackout also uses standard 30 cal projectiles, of which there are tons more available for reloading in different makes and models than x39's .312

They just fired half their AAC ammo staff. See my other post from last month. I imagine it will be .45c a round at the cheapest.
On their website they have a 250rd case of AAC steel case for $135, so .54c/round. Not that bad, but far from the halcyon days of cheap Russian ammo

Look it ain't my fault I was buying a spam can a week every week for about three or four years straight.
That's like someone coming into the thread saying "mosins are only $100, why would I buy an m700" and then when they're shown to be retarded, saying "not my fault I bought mine a decade ago".

You're just wrong, quit coping.

Ammo for almost any caliber will never return to pre-2020 prices. Shit sucks, but that's reality. But in a lot of ways, the guns themselves are better than they used to be, and some of them are very affordable. A typical Bushmaster AR was around $800 in 2012. Adjusting for inflation, that would be about $1100 today. For $1100, you can get an AR that's much nicer than a 2012 Bushmaster. There are a lot of affordable pistols now too. I've seen Ruger's new RXM for as low as $350.

So we kind of live in an upside down world now where the guns themselves are affordable, but ammo to actually shoot them will bleed your wallet dry if you like to shoot often enough.
