I have almost no idea who any of the parties in this slapfight are, but seeing journoscum seethe after being rightly pegged as hating video games more than /v/ makes me think this lady's on to something.
Or just on something, I dunno.

It's 2024 - Journalists can absolutely record footage before an embargo and upload the footage after the embargo exactly the same way sponsored streamers do. They legitimately do not have an answer for that.

"A publisher would go nuts if you uploaded the whole game online" - this is literally what they pay streamers/youtubers to do and have done for a full fucking decade. How the fuck do you go to a Giantbomb studio and sit on a Giantbomb couch and not know "one of the things Giantbomb is famous for is doing a full run of Persona 4 that had Atlus giving them sneak peeks and insider access for like a fucking decade after".

You think you hate Games Journalists enough, but you don't.

Because the streamers aren't the journalists with integrity and ethics like they are. Those live streamers will never move on into a prestigious career at the NYT, WSJ, Bloomberg, Time, etc. like these game journos definitely will, some day.

Hell, most 'em can't play games, and don't want to show how little of the games they play before churning out their slop reviews because they can't stand playing the shit. The Dean Takahashi Cuphead tutorial wasn't even the first time he did some shit like that. He had to publish a fucking apology in a newspaper because he failed to level his characters up in Mass Effect. Then there was that lame Doom 2016 30 minute gameplay video done by someone who had never touched a fucking computer before. Or the time Japanese Capcom devs laughed at game journos for complaining about the music in Devil May Cry 5 being flat and boring, when it would ramp up based on how well you did and it turned out the journos generally weren't getting better ratings than a D.

Imagine a world where automotive journalists, didn't know how to drive cars. Journalists talking about guns didn't know how to shoot. A restaurarnt critic that needs to eat via feeding tube shoved down their throat. Blind or deaf movie critics(without explicitly stating their reviewing it from the perspective of a lack of some senses).
 
It's astounding how consistently and thoroughly game journalists hate video games as a medium, such that their ideas for improving it amount to just removing the features that define video games from movies. They hate every genre and subgenre, are only the first to know about anything due to their status and position in the industry, and are avidly against the consumer in every way, at every step, at every moment. The only games they can appreciate are the walking simulators and cinematic AAA blockbusters, because those are designed to require the least input and dexterity possible to 100%.
