Futbol thread.

Bad/mediocre teams sometimes get lucky and take the lead against stronger opponents. They rarely succeed in taking that lead past the finish line, so you shouldn't buy into the hype prematurely. Say what you will about the disallowed goal, but even before Argentina scored and Egypt was leading 2-0, ARG still had way more shots on target, more possession, better passing, and so forth. Japan failed the same way against Brazil after leading 1-0. I hate this sport and only pay attention to it once every four years, usually against my will, and yet I've still seen this happen multiple times. If you play like faggots (Egypt, Japan, etc.), you deserve to lose.

I just want to say that matches like this is why I fucking hate seeing my team play defensive style. It doesn't make sense for me if you need to waste time why do you leave the ball with your rival. When Argentina was winning they went to egypt corner flag and would waste minutes there if needed. This is the most obvious right, to keep the ball instead of giving it to other team.

Even more when you are playing against fucking STAR PLAYERS like Cristiano Ronaldo in his prime, Messi, Haaland. You dont give them ANY CHANCE, they just need ONE CHANCE. Brazil learned this too late in the game and we don't have a player like Messi.

And until the exact moment that their first goal they were losing EXACTLY like Brazil, 2 goals, one goal refballed, a missed penalty, exactly the same situation. The difference is that they played like themselves for the entire game, not just the only last 20 minutes.

Brazil played like some minor european team and lost all their chances that could be even higher if they played like 2022 used to play.

Damn I am so jealous, not because of the win but because their players have SOUL.

At this point Ronaldo fans are better off wishing for Messi's World Cup run to continue. Just because it'll give them the hope of it ending with something they can make up to cover for the fact that Messi has outperformed him in every way.

This is Egypt's flag now.

"It is the first time in World Cup history that a team has won a knockout match in regulation time after trailing by two goals in the 75th minute." - ESPN

It was in Atlanta too, its 28-3 all over again.

Also I never saw Messi to commemorate a goal like this ever, not even when he won the WC or Copa America.

It even looked like Pelé lol

He knew he was playing horribly. Even without counting the missed benuldy, he was constantly losing the ball and making it easier for the other team to counterattack.

It was probably some next level catharsis. He was crying after the game.
