No offence if you're enjoying the World Cup but I can immediately tell they expanded the tournament and it's only going to get worse. Sure there's going to be good moments/games but holy fuck the four quarters, empty seats and general level of play isn't great.

Yeah. 32 teams for WC and 16 for Euros was golden ratio. It splits nicely, prevents too many shitty countries parking bus and trying to score off counter but still allows some nice upsets.

Most of the college football fields are too short per FIFA regulations. They made Kronke in LA tear up 2 year old stands and lay sod in sofi. They were rumored to have asked Chicago to put a dome over Soldier Field. Colleges are too busy overpaying players to commit to those kind of temporary changes. (Most college turf isn't up to standard.) Especially the ones that are state-owned.

America is winning 1-0 and is close to scoring another goal. So far this game is entertaining. This is probably the first World Cup game I've seen live, and the crowd energy is great. I'm watching StreamEast using the TSN broadcast because apparently the owner forgot to put on the Fox broadcast, but it's the same stuff pretty much. So far so good. One commenter in the stream chat said it best: if we win the World Cup, football should be renamed soccer.

Edit: America is now winning 2-0, and Jali, the owner of StreamEast, added the Fox broadcast. A funny fact: the commentators noted the guy that scored the goal is Nigerian, English, and American, but he decided to play for America. This is the diversity the Democrats want to ignore.
