I don't really follow soccer at all, since I'm not a Goddamn foreigner, but this is a pretty good video all the same.

 
Euro 2016 is under way right now. The first match of the championship has just finished - it was France vs. Romania. The French won 2:1, but the Romanian team (surprisingly) wasn't a pushover and fought quite fiercely. They had plenty of good attempts at goal that were only foiled by bad luck.

Think the England result was fair since their goal came from the poorest defended direct free kick I've ever seen.
 
Now that the U.S.A. has been eliminated from the Under 20 World Cup, I hope England can win it. That country could use some happiness right now. Plus they eliminated Mexico today, which is great.

Egypt qualified for the World Cup for the first time since 1990. I gotta say, admire how completely fucking nuts Egyptians are for Soccer. I guess kebabs can be pretty cool sometimes.

They've failed to qualify after losing to Trinidad & Tobago 2-1 while both Honduras and Panama beat Mexico and Costa Rica respectively.

So, when and how do we blame Trump for this? I know someone will.

Seriously, I want to get sad about this like you guys... Unfortunately, IMHO, it was only a matter of time before we sucked so much at the craft in a situation where it truly counts that we couldn't even make it past Qualifiers... At least, this time anyway, we're saved the trouble of getting eliminated in the group stage games.

Honestly, compared to the likes of Europe and South America (especially), we (the US) just ain't good at the craft because we don't truly respect it like those examples actually do, courtesy of their time and dedication to training people who want to really play the sport (besides make a nice career out of it, as it pays so damn well, especially in those examples.).

Well, unless you're on the Women's side of things in the sport, that is.

At least in the Under-17 World Cup the USA are doing well. They're out of their group with a game to spare. Hopefully they beat Colombia tomorrow morning and can get a weaker seed for the round of 16.
 
The U-17 USA are the chad team.

I'm here to shitpost about the WC qualifications, since we have the full roster now.

USA and Netherlands didn't qualify. Love is over.

Italy didn't qualify, which is not surprising since their national sport is diving, not football.

England will probably do well enough until they inevitably go up against Germany, upon which they will be destroyed as per usual. As with the last two WCs Rooney will send the ball literally everywhere except in to the net.

Russia has been a joke since they stopped using Arshavin or maybe I'm just butthurt because he was one of my favorites and they are only here solely because they're the hosts

Matches I'm hoping to see: Denmark v Sweden, England v Spain, Germany v Russia

Germany is probably going to win again, which is fine I guess.
