They think NA thunderstorms are just a bit of rain. They don't really understand wind or lightning or flooding.

Similar thing out west - Germans keep dying in the desert because they don't understand the weather here will just fucking kill you.

Why not make the NFL goalposts a gigantic lightning rod? You could even put some ads on it to stop this gay bullshit.

Unless the lightning come out of the earth, there is no way using lightning rods wouldn't fix this problem
 
I was able to catch most of Norway-Senegal while on break (my morning gig boss has watched almost every game but I only catch snippets) and it was pretty fun. The Senegalese kept it close and had better posession but Norway has Erling Haaland. I love that downie looking son of a bitch.

But the best part was the rowing.







26 years since the last time this nation was on a major tournament.

Foids are already terrible commentators, they're just not suited for the booth man. Stick to being sideline reporters, please. I don't want to hear you shrieking through the match. And an American commentator on a football game never sounds right, in much the same way as a British guy would sound strange commentating over an NFL game. Can we just have an endless surplus of 60-year-old Brits to commentate every football game? Nobody does it like them.

I had some euro friends and family up in the plains during tornado season and they all freaked the fuck out when a massive thunderstorm rolled through while we were driving. They were panicking and screaming to pull over while we all laughed at them thinking the world was ending.

Messi has 18, Mbappe has 16. Mbappe has at least one more world cup in his tank with being 27. If someone takes the overall top scorer away from Messi then Mbappe.

Messi is playing his 6th world cup and shit the bed in one, 2010, where he didn't score. Both he and Cristiano have now played in 6 world cups. That's quite rare.

Two players have played in 6 world cups, Messi and Ronaldo.
Only six players have played in 5 world cups plus three more who were part of a team in five world cups but only played in 4. Mbappe surely will join the club of having played in 5 tournaments, maybe he joins Messi and Ronaldo.

Notice something? Among the players who have scored 8 or 9 goals who only have one active player left, Neymar.
There are only three active players left who have scored 6 goals. No active player who has scored 7 goals.

Haaland doesn't even show up in the list with only 4 goals so far.

So yeah, I disagree and say it's ackshually not this easy to break such records. It takes the absolute top of the top of the top. Maybe we see Mbappe take the record away from Messi at the next world cup, maybe not. He's just one serious injury away that could take away his speed and then what.


Anyways, so far, all the matches I saw where very entertaining. Saw both Germany matches, Spain and Portugal struggle in their first games, the Netherlands kicking Sweden around, yesterday Messi writing history. Good world cup so far and now the Portugal show. I'm having fun.
