Scrap the current ending, rework some of the plot in written fashion (books), forget anything past the first game ever happened.
 
I think it's cool that Scott managed to take criticism about one of his previous games and turn it into money.

I don't think it's cool that Scott's once interesting horror game concept became this obscenely popular. So popular that it got it's own movie confirmed within months after the first release.

I personally look up to Scott as a developer. He's shown that it's possible to make it as an indie, no matter how small you start out. It's just that... The games aren't that good. It was cool to see the first one because the concept it provided for gameplay wasn't explored before, and it gave a breath of fresh air to the horror game genre. The only problem is that by development standards, the FNaF series is incredibly lacking. As with most of you, the only part I stuck around for was the backstory. If the game itself is so boring that people only keep playing to see your backstory, there's an issue. By all means, games don't come out perfect, but all FNaF has done between a total of four sequels is recycle the same gameplay concept over and over. There weren't any major or interesting additions, just shining lights, closing doors, and checking cameras. What's worse than a game that only recycles a concept with minor changes, and is only interesting for it's surprisingly stock horror backstory? The community. FNaF is one of the only few franchises that has ever managed to generate so much cringe-worthy and autistic community content in such a short time.

In short, after the release of the 4th game's DLC, FNaF needs to die forever. I know Scott's promised that the DLC is the final addition, but I'm curious as to how long the community will last. I want to see Scott make more games like The Desolate Hope, which had actual thought and effort put into the story and gameplay.

My opinion on FNaF is this: It's way to overblown. It's not that good of a game series, and once you take a deeper look into the whole game, you realize that it's hardly as interesting as you thought it'd be in the end. I want to see originality and heart put into games, not stock and bland attempts for cash grabs.

I would also like to take this time to remind you that this is my opinion. If you don't agree, by all means you are right. Everyone has a different threshold on enjoyment, and I don't judge any of you for liking the game or the story.
 
I just wish the series had ended after 3. I thought that was decent closure with just enough loose ends tied up. 4 was just really unnecessary and added more questions to what was already a (mostly) wrapped up series - questions that can never hope to be answered since it's supposed to be the final game 4 reals. And now we're going to have an RPG that has nothing to do with the horror story that drew people in and kept the conversation (and series) going. I understand that for Scott, the money is probably a pretty powerful incentive to keep the franchise going, especially considering how bad off he was before FNAF became a hit...but it still kinda sucks.

I'm still happy for him, though. And maybe in the FNAF RPG we'll see more stuff like what Desolate Hope offered.
 
I'm glad 4 came along because in spite of it answering virtually nothing and opening up even more questions, it was a vastly superior game to 3 imo.

I couldn't care enough to get past night 3 in 3, I was completely apathetic about it. I made it to night 7 in 4 and I loved every second of it. I'm pretty sure I can beat night 7, just haven't gotten around to playing it again. I really enjoyed the tone and the gameplay.

I actually like the fuckboys games a lot, they're pretty fun and challenging. I'll give FNAF World a go, but I'm not expecting to enjoy it as much as fnafb.
 
The only question i want answered at this point is how the fuck does this place stay open? Like two kids had their heads bit off, a bunch of other kids were straight up murdered, the mecha furries kill anyone they get their hands on, and apparently there was a suit with a dead guy in it for like 30 years.
 
It really bothers me how angry some people get at Scott Cawthorn. I totally get not liking the series and thinking that it's overrated, but why are you hating on the developer? I think that everyone should admire him because
  • The dude was able to turn criticism of his older games into a very successful franchise
  • He actually said that FNaF was going to be his last game if it flopped because he would be moving onto something else
  • Before the success of his games, he was stuck working in shitty, low-paying jobs
  • He's very passionate about video games and has frequently encouraged people to make their own games, even promising to play them
  • He just seems very nice and humble in general and obviously cares about the people who play his games
I think it's great that an indie developer can succeed like this, and I'd like to see more of it.

Also, just saying, if I made something successful I'd be milking the cash cow, too. Don't judge.

It's most likely the DLC for FNAF 4. Scott said he'd be releasing one DLC thing on Halloween. It has to do with that secret locked chest you get in the game from either beating Nightmare mode or 20/20/20/20 mode
 
So I guess this is (hopefully) the end. Heh, I'll admit even if the games came out too fast and created an extremely spergy fanbase, I can't say I didn't enjoy em. It's only been like a year, and I already have fond memories of the first game. Kinda sad to see the story end, but I'm glad they're gonna stop it before it gets even more convuluted. So from what I'm guessing they're probably gonna add Springtrap or the pupper or something and add more eerie minigames to explain what happened.
