Stay away from casting hardcore fans, go the s3 route for casting the fish and aim for the most gullible and ignorant people from backstage or whatever.

Every time they run a season it get's harder to find people that have never heard of the show.
People that are entirely brand new to the show also have a tendency to freak out and leave when the twist happens.
If they hadn't cast Burt last minute because someone else dropped out S3 would have been a dud.
