Season 2 is a dud in many ways but will turn a profit. If their goal is to "make a profit" then it will be a success for years. Much of the profit is leaning on season 1 hype from pre-season.

The concept isn't doomed but we got confirmation the people behind it have no clue what they're doing. If anything I think the concept is extremely resilient and that's why it makes money in spite of repeated fuck ups.

I'd agree that the concept alone can probably carry them through seasons even worse than 2 for a while.

Even if I didn't care for Season 2, I do still miss tuning in to the tank, there's something about the thing that's just mesmerizing. It is especially sad then that they failed to iterate positively on the show with Season 2. Being engrossed in something that is foul is just kind of sad.

I want to see the realized potential someday.

He tweeted that he has a goal this year to get 1,000 fans in 10 non-Texan cities so he can justify touring those cities. I hope he's on the up and I'm glad he and Fishtank benefit each other.

Hey guys, sorry to necro with shit thats barely relevant but this is a summary of the interview that the izzy guy I mentioned did.

- She knew Chris Chan. The interviewer referred to him by female pronouns.
- Talks about weeb stuff with the interviewer

This is all totally unrelated, but this is funny to me. I made this account to say I was interested in who izzy is because I've been in "the fishtank community" since it started and I've never heard of him and holy shit dude.
This guy is so fucking desperate for any type of fame.
I think what he's trying to do is, instead of picking one "creative" thing to hone in on and get good at, he's trying to be a jack of all trades. Ending up at a master of none.

Do you guys think season 2 is a dud? Also do you think fishtank as a concept is doomed? I feel like it will always end with the house being destroyed and the final two literally fighting for fifty grand. Not much room for anything else.

Nah your forgetting the marketable side of it. The average person watching has too much time on their hands so they just watch the clips. Arguably for a normal audience that’s all you need, even though you miss out on some great stuff. The clip channels really did a good job drawing in new viewers

I felt like I should mention here because it’s a cow crossover. Sam talked about getting Kingcobrajfs in fishtank on his last stream. He said that he wanted to get him on season 2 but it was just too hard to line up. He says that he doesn’t want people to bother him about the show and hopes they can get him for season 3.

I thought he said that as a joke, he was doing a lot of giggling for it to be serious.

I fundamentally disagreed with every decision Jet made with his edit of S1 from square one. The first thing he did was get to work forcing a square peg through a round hole. He tried to turn Fish Tank into 30 min VH1 wacky reality TV episodes.

He didn’t relent until extreme criticism from the people who funded the project. Then the verbal beating and subsequent public shaming he endured. Humiliating.

My hope is that Jet has more oversight from peers this season. He’s a hard worker. But IMO Fish Tank S1 granted Jet too much creative wiggle room. Also, he will never be Schultz good at editing. I don’t believe he has it in him.
