The erasure of male friendship from media in the modern age is a loss for us as a species, frankly. Guys can be close friends without being faggots about it. Not all relationships are sexually charged.

Thancred and Urianger are good friends who complement one another well as they've grown as individuals over the journey. The fact the fanbase can't just appreciate that as something worthy in its own right and have to make everything sexual all the time is just so incredibly offputting.

It's funny to me because it's blindingly obvious Urianger and Moenbryda is blatantly true even in the EN translation, without them slobbering each other once.

It's also obvious that Thancred has feelings for Minfillia too. Total fujoshit death, in my opinion. End of HW spoiler: I've only now just started Stormblood, mind you. Thus I can also say RIP least jewish FF midget.

He makes passes at her all the time and I really wish they'd explore their relationship again, now that the arc of putting her late husband to rest has long passed. She's another aspect of 1.0 that I think got left to tbe wayside with ARR and I believe there's a lot of story potential with her.

God I hope the new combat mode saves this game for me because I just can't bring myself to use the clunky, slow, miserable 123 rotations.

I'm finding myself more and more wanting to just play anything else because of how much of a grinding chore getting shit done in xiv is.

Especially if you aren't an early adopter, the backlog of quests to get to new shit is insane. And I don't even mean the msq. Want to do relic weapons? Better do 40 hours of Hildebrand, fucko.

Want a raid mount? Better do scores of boss runs that are the exact same over and over again.

If things weren't so static gameplay wise I could pretend otherwise but I'm just plain burned out despite having goals to go for still.

@DiabeticSydePhil Its why I am not playing Dawntrail at all, as I played Endwalker, I could feel myself getting more bored with the combat and button bloat. I usually played on a controller, and it felt such a chore; not only that, but it was just boring. I played Picto briefly and hated every second of it.

It's so frustrating because I want to enjoy this stupid fucking game and I just don't. It's the opposite of WoW where the gameplay is so good I can sink a hundred hours in each raid tier and love every moment then quit until the next tier.

I just want that much fun from this game. Let me ENJOY the grind.
